Panthers Depth Chart As Of Today

You people that are convinced the Panthers are doing the "right thing" crack me up. How the hell do you put a positive spin on: deep sixing your entire D line, no number one pick to grab a starter and Matt Moore?? Mental masturbation is fun, I guess!! Barring some unforeseen move and some magic, best case the Panthers will break even next year.

the reason why most people on this board are so optomistic is that we got rid of delhomme which most would say the major reason we were 8-8. now while this is true and hopefully matt moore can continue his growth and production, we have created several large holes around him on the team. they seem to feel that defense isnt need just offense.

people think that we will all of a sudden become the colts because of our last five games, but people forget that those games were as much about our defense as they were our offense.

Where are all of these large holes? Aside from building depth, which will come from the draft and the next wave of FA's, the only real holes I can see are the ones left by Peppers, which was unavoidable because he didn't want to be here, and the #2WR.

None of these other losses will be very hard to replace.

the question is can they be replaced with equal or better talent. you can replace the wheels on your car with bike tires, but it wont be the same. you would get horrible gas mileage!!:D

the point i keep looking at is not that the guys lost were probowlers or anything like that (even though pep was) but that even though they are average to good, are we going to replace them with some one better? if not they we will be a team worse off for the change.

I'm in the quietly optimistic section of the bandwagon. I like the cuts, barring Diggs, and feel it's about time to go young. Time to let the kids shine in their own spotlight... I do think we should grab a vet QB and a solid #2 WR, but FA is far from over, and we all know Hurney is pretty cautious about grabbing up the big name guys out there.

Hell, if nothing else, we should all see that the same ol' same ol' that's been taking place the past few years has paid us the dividends of false hope and mediocrity. I, for one, am ecstatic about our FO shaking things up this year. At least it's a change in the direction of trying to better ourselves, whether or not it works out, becuase at least they're recognizing that what may have worked previously did not work, and are trying something new.

Go look on NFL.com and you will find that guys like Tank Tyler, Leonard Louis, Jeff King, Richard Marshall, Thomas Davis and several others are not on the roster. Until they sign the tender they are not part of the team or part of the depth chart. That listing by the OP assumes that everyone will be here and sign their tender but that isn't guaranteed.

Anyone hear how the players rehabs are going. Right now Davis, Irvin, and Louis all had serious knee and are coming off IR. Before I pencil them as starters, it would be nice to know if they will be ready to play in a few months.

Just a cautionary note.

We won't know that for some time. Case in point.......when we picked up Brayton I asked a group of local Raider fans about him. They were happy to see him go and had nothing good to say. After listening to them I asked...... why the hell did we get him? Well, moral of the story.....ya just never know.

And as you asked in your post.....we just need to replace them with a young/cheaper version not with a probowler.

If those players arent signed or not looking good in rehab, the team will proably sign others to makeup for the possible loss.

Many of the players we have , have expierence of more than two NFL seasons. While they made have not had alot of starts or big stats, its not like there coming in and having to adjust or learn heavily.

I like the look of it, but I still think we should have made a push at Antonio Bryant or inquired about Anquan Boldin being that he went for so cheap, or even aaron kampman, but we lost out on any real quality availale free agents so im blind as to where we r headed
