Jeez

I see the same problem I always see a #2 WR #3 WR

And Depth

{Never Started In The N F L !!!}

That can be said of any player ,untill they start

Brett Favre never started in the N F L for a while .

{ Defense }

I see youth, and MEEKS

Working together to completly learn MEEKS system

D-Line is going to be new , but everthing behind them has been here and done that

{Offense}

Moore is an improvement over Jake present and future

O-line is basicaly the same

RB is same

TE is same used for blocking

WR still need a #2 and #3

{Special Teams}

great draft picks and F/A walk-ons should improve this area

Along with a new coach new outlooks

John kicking off concerns me most here

Needs

Backup QB

#2 & #3 WR

2 Back up D L

2 back up L B

Special Teams speed

Kicker {maybe }

Yes, it is depressing. Yippe, we have an extremely low cap number in an uncapped year. In my best Ben Stein voice, wow......I am so happy *sheesh*.

I know I am about to open up a can of worms here, but I LITERALLY shake my head every time I see the statement "Moore is better than Delhomme". The reason, that is PURE speculation. Matt played well in 5 games last year, some better than others. Jake could be washed up and he may not...we will see in Cleveland as we will see here with Moore.

I am not in the camp of those that look at the depth chart and see Moore at the starting QB spot and say "check" that spot is solid. Moore is still an unkown to me. I can't say I'm sold on him for roughly a quarter season's body of work. Call me a skeptic, oh well. Even If Delhomme we still starting, I wouldn't feel cozy about the QB spot. It's a position in flux. In other words, it's an unsettled position in my eyes.

So no, with all the other upheaval on the team, I'm not all enthused when seeing that depth chart.

I like this lineup better than what we had last year. I don't think people fully realize how much it's going to help our offense AND defense to not have Jake throwing so many picks and how many games that actually cost us from both a morale standpoint and a simple logistics standpoint. If you think 50% chance of Mild Peppers is going to change the way our defense plays with Jon Beason out there, then think again. We're going to have guys that aren't as talented as Peppers but work twice as hard on every play. I can deal with that. Especially with Beason and Davis entering their prime.

Positions that need to be addressed, in order of importance:

2nd CB

Rushing Down DE

Backup QB

Backup SS

Kickoff Specialist

Rushing Down NT

The WR core is .... FINE. Dwayne Jarrett is perfectly capable of a 35-40 catch season opposite Steve Smith and our TE can do the rest. Moore loves to use them in the passing attack as well as our backs.

depressed? we haven't even hit the draft yet. wait til late april to kill yourself at least

I'm not depressed, actually I'm quite happy today. Thanks for asking!

So without a #1 pick (you know, the one that is normally penciled in as a starter) we have 3 picks we can count on contributing with maybe the second round guy playing on something other than just special teams.

Your right, the draft will probably change my entire perspective about this very young team with more holes than we can address in one offeseason. :thumbsup:

So Jake was the one calling the plays last year? He chose to run on first and second downs with third down being a draw or bomb? Hmmm, interesting. I never saw him once frustrated with the play calling last year. It would be silly, because he would have to balme himself for the bad play selection.

Seriously, Moore doesn't like to use his backs and TEs, the play calling was more reserved in the passing attack. The coaches gave him safe throws for the first few games, you know, passing to the backs and TEs.

Lastly, as you have your opinion, many here feel the WR position is not fine and furthermore, is in worse shape than last year.

Moore/Davidson is better than Delhomme/Davidson, regardless of who the better quarterback is.
