Where is Brad Hoover's press conference?....

Jake was a starting QB, of course he is going to be given one.Do you honestly think the majority of teams have the same amount of FB press conferenes as QB's do? They don't.

Also press conferences have been held for Minter and Rucker. And if I recall right there were tears in that sitatuion as well. So its not like JD has been given exlusive treatment.

So f**king what if he was a QB. Hoover was here since 2000, Jake since 2003. If theyre gonna set up a conference for Jake because he was here for so many years, they should do the same for Hoover. And you didn't help your case mentioning Minter and Rucker. If anything it helps mine. Cause last time I checked, they never played QB for us and Hoover didn't get the samething.

Agian its not just the panthers. Go ahead and look around the league and see how many other teams are having the same amount of FB confernces as QB.

Is it unfair? Maybe, but its not as if the Panthers are even close to the only team who does it. Which would suggest that its not specifically the Panther stupid hyporcritcal move, but somthing that teams just dont' usally do

Thats still a piss poor excuse not to give Hoover one

if he was retiring he would have a press conference,JR just letting him go no way he is pissed JR didnt even come see him had hurney to give him the news if you have the balls to release at least tell him face to face

What also should be noted is with Minter and Rucker. They were strongly headed toward retirment. It was a way to head toward the sunset.

Hoover isnt retiring and still playing.

Its find if you think its unfiar. But your using one press conference to base your whole argument on.

Recent events tell more about the current state of mind of the organization. They hold Delhomme above Hoover despite the fact he's been here longer and was better at his job. It doesn't matter if he's retiring or not because Jake hasn't announced he is.

Why aren't Hurney and Fox making a press conference for Hoover so that they can say how much they're going to miss him and cry their eyes out?

I mean Hoover was only here 3 years before Jake even stepped foot on the field for the Panthers. He's only paved way for THREE 1,000 yard backs in Stephen Davis, DeAngelo Williams, and Jonathan Stewart. Even lesser backs, DeShaun Foster and Nick Goings, got almost 900 yards a year when they started.

So why does a guy who had more INTs than TDs in the past 2 years, and was hurt for a year before that, get a press conference with Coach and GM beside him bawling their eyes out while another guy that has been here longer and did his job well every year he's been here doesn't?

It kind of throws the whole analogies of comparing war to football for reasons why Fox and Hurney were shedding a thousand tears a minute during Delhomme's press conference out the window since the samething didn't happen for Hoover. It shows that they were so blindly loyal to a QB that it affected their decision making process during the 2009 season and that they most likely would've started Jake again first chance they got if he was still on the team. It also shows that JR was the reason Jake got the boot because you know damn well he would still be on the team if it was up to Fox and Hurney.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat thread.

It really goes to show how stupid and short-sighted it was for everyone involved to set that thing up. I've never seen anything like that in my life. There's no precedence for any cut player having a press conference set up by the team that had fired him and then the press conference itself turned into a spectacle.

We should have a press conference for ALL the players we cut.

I mean isnt that what teams do?

Maybe YES ONLY because of how much the FAN BASE LOved Hoove, but other than that he is an old FB who should have been cut last season.

It sucks to say that, but its the truth.

With the BEATING a FB takes, I am amazed that Hoover did what he did at the high level he did it, for such a long time.

Mineter and Rucker got one because they have been lifelong panthers, and were retiring.

Jake got one because he was a starting quarterback of this franchise for seven years.

Hoover doesnt get one because he is niether retring or a QB.

Thats how it is in carolina and the rest of the NFL.
