JR is on a mission....

I disagree. Jerry couldn't make his intentions any more clear even if he ran naked through Charlotte waiving a white flag.

At best we are rebuilding. To me that word is bullshit. Teams like the Eagles don't rebuild they just continuously improve and prepare for the future.

The Panthers won 8 games last year despite having terrible QB play. With Matt Moore at QB the team was 4-1 or something. Now they are dismantling the team around Matt Moore that went 4-1. It's absurd. Yeah, some changes needed to be made, but you can't make this many changes and expect to replace 7-10 veteran contributors with 4-5 draft picks and signing mediocre free agents (daniels).

I really thought this team had a great chance to be good this upcoming season (unlike last year when decisions like these probably should have been made to a lesser extent regarding players like Delhomme, Peppers, Lewis, Maake).

JR realizes he didn't make tough decisions last year and is trying to make up for it but he's throwing away next season. All this and our coach is in the last year of his deal.... Destroy the team so nobody wants it? Why let the guys who are going to be fired be a part of the rebuilding process of the team? Do this when you have your GM and Coach of the future in place.

"throwing away next season"

Pure speculation and horse shit. Put yourself in Jerry's shoes. Would you take for granted that you have more seasons coming? I wouldn't. What I would do is get this thing turned around as quickly as possible and get back to playing great football. You don't do that with older complacent veterans. You do it with young hungry players you can work to death.

Go get em Jerry.

Maybe he's trying to win THIS YEAR, with the possibility of a lockout, he wants a Lombardi trophy, and now...

Or maybe he's trying to save himself some money because you know, billionaire's like to hang on to a few extra million when they're 73 post heart surgery. You never know when you're going to need that money to buy that 48th Ferrari.

Which involves making tough decisions by letting go of players approaching free agency and depending on younger guys to take their spots. Or just outright cutting guys who are getting old. You don't remember them letting go of Bobby Taylor, Troy Vincent, Brian Dawkins, etc...in favor of younger options with little experience? The Eagles are a bad example if you want to prove your point.

And how the fug are any of the cuts they made gonna "destroy" this team? Thats asinine. At worst, this team will go through some growing pains while younger players gain experience and they'll be better for it in the coming years.

Anyone questioning JR and his desire to win is fooling themselves. .

"Makes me think? What is our number 1 priority this season," Harris said. "I know what mine is." -Chris Harris

I guess Chris Harris is fooling himself.

I can't recall the Eagles ever cutting this many contributing players in one season.

“If I state my opinion I might be the next on the long list of released players,” Harris replied to a follower on Twitter.

They're already losing the team and the season hasn't started. Do any of you honestly think Steve Smith and Jon Beason are happy right now?

Anyone questioning JR and his desire to win is fooling themselves. The man was an NFL player. Competition is in his blood and he is not getting younger.

He done pulled that there band aid off quickly. Now lets get out there and kick some ass.

You lost me at "He done pulled that there....."

This is starting to look like a Fox reboot, JR may want to keep Fox after this year but realizes that Fox has gotten to comfortable with his veterans. Now Fox is going to have to push the young players to step up and he will use the best player vs. the vet. An added benefit is that Fox might be forced to leave his comfort zone (conservative play calling) and start thinking outside the box. If it doesn’t work a new coach can come in and not be hindered with players he can’t get rid of and hi priced contracts.
