I agree. i'm also loving it. Although my son and I did shed a tear with the release of Jake. Hince our name and Jake was his first football hero which made it a tough one to swallow but, it is better for the team. Their moving in another direction for the first time in a long time. As fans......... all we can do is hold on.

this is more like it.

we want the team to give the young guys a chance and start developing? you got to make room.

you want a solid team to make a run in the future? you got to get them in place now and let them get experience.

you want real competition going forward? you got it. no more relying on the old stand buys. no more loyalty issues.

one added benefit of all this... could this bring in added temptation for fox to bail? seems the FO is taking roster decisions away from him or forcing his hand to start developing the young ones. either way, it's taking fox out of his comfort zone.

at any rate, they are not just getting ready for the possibility of no football next year. they are getting ready for an HC regime change after this year.

i'm excited. i think there is a possibility there still for a winning season coming up but i'm more interested in the long term results of this. in 2011/2012, one way or another, we will be in better shape.

It's certainly made it interesting.

Looking at the long term picture you can't be pissed at the moves.

How many big money multi year contracts are there left?! Gross, Wharton, Smith, Gamble. That is a lot of room to reward the players that play well, rather than spending on overpriced FAs
