Smitty vs. Fitzgerald

Are there any panthers fans in here to back me up? This guy is trying to tell me that Fitzgerald has the same, and better, intangibles as Steve Smith.

p.s. last time I checked, height is a tangible trait.

Wow, just wow. What the panther fans, or anyone really should do is sign you up for a remedial reading and comprehension class because I didn't say that. I could not have been any clearer with what I wrote.

Smith may have the intangibles that Fitz doesn't (which he doesn't because Fitz is a ballsy dude and works harder than anyone) but Fitz definitely has the tangibles that Steve lacks.

I'd just also like to add that Smith is a fantastic choice as a RESERVE backing up STARTERS Fitz and Boldin in the Pro Bowl this year. To bad he was not in Hawaii to back up starter Fitz in the Pro Bowl last year though.

Oh, and Fitz and Smith have similar career totals, only Fitz is 5 yrs younger.

It's true, between Cards fans and Panthers fans, this thread would never end, but it is fun to debate it. I did a little scientific test and texted my Bears fan brother and Broncos fan bro-in-law and Seahawks season ticket holder uncle. Fitz wins, 3-0.

But this thread will go on until Fitz beat Smith into the HOF.

i'm not gonna argue all that u just said cuz i personally don't care who's better.. i'm happy with what we have. but i will say this, u textin 3 people who are related to you and asking them this question doesn't really prove much. of course they'd back you. and Smith is gonna make the Hall of fame.. his career is far from over. and since he is 5 years older, he will make it in before Fitz.

but i do believe Smith deserved the start in the pro bowl over boldin. boldin probably got in only cuz he had more TD's and there were numerous times when Smith was downed within the 5 yard line and we let Williams run in it cuz we could rely on our ground game to score which arizona really couldn't.

That is an excused ridden homer post if I ever saw one. Here is my homeristic response :D

The difference is that Boldin is too much of a beast to get tackled that close the goalline becasue he is the meanest badass in the NFL. And we dont need any RBs to get the ball in when we are at the five because all we have to do is throw the ball 13 feet in the air and Fitz ALWAYS comes down with it.

it wasn't being a homer at all. it's the truth. check out the green bay highlights. jake underthrows smith in double coverage and it's all he can do to fall down and catch the ball instead of bein hit in stride and scoring. and our teams use 2 completely different offenses. yall can't run so you throw. we do both but we run more than we throw. but smith averaged over 100 yards per game this year, had 400 more yards receiving than boldin, boldin had 5 or 6 more tds. sorry, but smith had the better numbers. and before u say anything about boldin missing games, boldin averaged 86 yards per game.. so smith had 15 more yards per game

Oh, my fault. I didn't know you get points for recieving yards yards. Silly me.

Cry all you like, but Q did more for his team (11tds to 6) in 2 less games. Q was also playing with a fractured face all damn season.

Yep Boldin had 11 TD's to Smith's 5, in Boldin's 12 games to Smith's 14. And our RB's had 15 TD's, despite our horrible running game. Nowhere close to your RB duo, granted, but nearly 1 RB score per game is not too shabby.

Interesting stat...not really related to this thread...your RB's had 30 TD's, ours had 15. Warner threw 30 TD's, Jake threw 15. It's gonna come down to defense and turnovers. Unless it rains, in which case it will be an ugly disaster of epic proportions for us Cardinals LOL.

yeah i said boldin had more TD's, but smith had better overall numbers. but i'm sure he's not gonna boo hoo about not starting in the pro bowl. smith is the type of receiver that will see all the love your 2 are getting, and he'll use that as extra motivation to show that he's still one of the most dominant receivers in the game.

and let's not forget that your QB is better than ours. i can only imagine the numbers Smith would have if we had Kurt Warner chuckin the ball around instead of Delhomme

You forgot the part where we're 12-4 and you're 9-7 (10-7 now).

And Pro Bowl is nothing but a popularity contest and a terrible measurement of what player is better.

i'm not crying. like i said, i could careless what you think cuz i wouldn't trade Smith for anyone. but my point remains that smith had better numbers and was probably the MVP of our team cuz of the clutch catches he had throughout the year. and him gettin us down inside the 5 and us punchin it in on the next play is just as good as gettin a TD to me, i understand that you'll disagree cuz "he didn't actually score"
