Smitty vs. Fitzgerald

Steve Smith is the greatest receiver in the NFL and my personal hero! Larry Fitzgerald still has better hands.

Hey, I'm not saying there's anything wrong with saying that Larry has better hands because the guy does have one of the best pair of hands in the game. I'm not claiming that Smith is superior in every category.

True, but Arizona spreads its passes around more than we do, as well as throwing a higher percentage of short passes.

Their number three guy has a 1000 yards.

Both are great, but I would favor Smith because of his ability to run after the catch.

what does spreading the ball around have to do with anything? You do remember that we have the least passes thrown as a team in the NFL this season, while Arizona is one of the highest passers?

While it may be true that they throw short passes more, Fitzgerald still has 18 more receptions than Steve Smith, while only mustering up 10 more yards. I think that's says something about which receiver is more dangerous. Smith does way more with less touches.

Steve Smith definetely he plays with a passion that puts him above the rest that can not go unsaid. I will say fitz runs a close second and dont forget about andre johnson down in houston he has to be in the discussion

One last comment from me on this thread..... Fitz also has Kurt Warner throwning to him.... Jake may be a winner, but he can't throw nearly as good as Warner... Remember earlier this year after we came back and beat them, all we could talk about was how well Warner could still throw it. I take Smitty hands down..... but if the Cards wanted to send Fitz to Carolina to play on the other side......lol...... must be the wacky tobacco talking there....

Yeah I said this in the other thread...it's all about the intangibles. Maybe Fitzgerald and Smith have equal speed and hands, but Smitty just has an unbelievable drive and competitive edge. The man plays with more heart than anyone in the NFL, period. Fitzgerald might be able to make the catches, but Smitty will come through in the clutch when every bit of momentum is against him and his team (ie: last week against NO). Smitty hands down.
