Peppers was "willing to stay"

I see Pep taking more plays off than usual if Cutler is his usual self. But I guess the bonus money might be a motivater.

I think it's more his personality. He is clearly not driven by a love for the game, but rather a love for competing against people. In Carolina he was the guy everyoone was measured against and thus he never felt like he had to compete with anyone.

So, move him to a new team and all of a sudden he will want to prove to himself that he is the best on the team. He will compete as hard as he can because he needs to prove to himself and others that he is once again the measuring stick. Once that is achieved, see him drift back into inconsistency.

fug him. He's gone, good riddance. I'd take an embarrassing loss to the Bears to insure that we don't waste millions on a wishy washy player like Peppers. I just don't think it will turn out that way, especially with Cutler at QB. By the time Peppers sees BOA field again, Cutler will have that team in turmoil, and he'll be mailing it in just like old times.

1.5 million dollar difference when you are getting paid 12.5 million dollars per year doesn't mean "willing to stay" that means "I'm in it for the money." That guy cares nothing about winning titles...he wanted the money. What can he honestly do with 1.5 million dollars more when he is making 12.5 a year and has made over 100 million over his entire career? He was arguing over 1/100th of the amount of money he has already made in his career...he is officially a moron.

When will you guys learn Peppers is not a stand up guy? He is all over the place, even in this article he said it came down to 6 million which shouldn't have been a big deal. Then he says it really wasn't about the numbers. Anyone want to ask him about the 3-4 situation? Exactly, seems to me he is a moody drama queen who throws fits behind closed doors and on the field.

Peppers is in this for the money more than anything else and anyone who thinks otherwise, well read the article. Look at his new deal. And ask yourself if any athlete come out and says I did this solely for the money in more blunt words than Peppers just did. Peppers does not play this game for the fame or glory.

I think its funny he talked about no one being straight up with him, everyone is tired of playing his games.

Good riddance, it was well over 6 mil when the panther offered you the deal that you didn't sign to milk a franchise tag.

This is just another team to him, just another game to play in his own words. Talk about playing with absolutely no heart.

We have been trying to resign him for 4 years now so thats total BS. If he wanted to be in Carolina he would be. It just came down to that he would almost take a half a season off. There were players behind him that were working hard on every down and Peppers was half assing it on half of them.

This is the same situation that Moose when threw when he left Carolina.

Its not that hard to stop Peppers. If you respect him and always keep a TE and maybe even a fb/rb to help out the T you will frustrate him and eventually he gives up. You can usually tell the kind of game Pep is going to have in the 1st qtr. If you can shut him out for that long I am not afraid of him in the slightest. We have a team that should know exactly how to stop him.

This is 100 per cent correct. The only problem is, people were just as stupid back then. Moose left because Chicago offered more money. We didn't match it. The same argument can be made now- if you got offered more money to work somewhere else, you'd take it. Say anything different, and you're full of crap.

And for everybody saying "1.5 million isn't that much when you're talking about 12.5 million", tomorrow when you go to work, give back 1/8th of your pay. Because you really want to be there.

Pep turned down multiple reasonable lucrative offers and then acts butthurt cause they didn't make just one more offer (for him to turn down).

He wasn't gonna give a hometown discount folks. I'll sell you a ski chalet in Florida if you think he would have.
