Peppers was "willing to stay"

I told you so...

Can we please end the "Julius Peppers is a douche" sentiment now?

Maybe if he would have had a press conference and cried like a baby because we just gave him almost $13 Million to walk, folks would be talking about making statues and putting him in the Ring of Honor...

Bullshit, sour grapes.

Fug you Pep, that's the first thing you've said in months and you take one last shot at the Panthers.

Apparently it was only about the money. :puke:

the thing is, there is two sides. for some reason do you think the Panthers have 0 motivation for this game? or that the players don't have any animosity toward him leaving? only they know, but you can't assume that Peppers is the only person who has a reason to show up.

Pretty much everyone on this board will agree to this statement…..

Julius Peppers is a physical freak and when he has his head in the game he is the best DE in the league.

When we play the bears, their whole defense will be fired up to help their teammate stick it to the former team who “didn’t want Peppers.”( see Chris Harris when we played the Bears after his trade) You are correct there will be motivation for the offense to run the ball down Peppers throat, but wouldn’t you agree Peppers would have greater motivation to beat Carolina, the place he wanted out of for years, than the offense to beat a player that left in FA?

no. bc the of your last couple of lines. "the place hes wanted out of for years". Players knew he wanted out. and players knew he took place of, hence Beason calling him out last year. don't think there aren't guys on that team that would like nothing more than to make Pep wish he never left.

I guess that’s where we differ with opinion. I personally think the Bears defense will have more motivation than our offense when they line up against each other, time will tell.

Who knows, he might break his leg in preseason……..I would laugh a good bit.

one thing that is making me laugh is the prospect of 2011 being a locked out year and the bears still having to pay him $14mil and then having to pay that again the next year after the then 32 year old player will have been away from the game for a year.

that should make them feel good about their investment.

when it comes down to it...and contracts are up....the money is the driving force for most players in this league. They have a very small window to make as much as they can.....and most take that approach.

:hand: I think your crystal ball needs a rebuild kit. Multiple sacks that game for Peppers....multiple.

his past history shows he's rarely dominated pro bowl tackles in their prime. He'll embarrass a legend but I don't remember him really dominating a tackle that was in the same stage of his career that Pepers was. I could be wrong but lately I don't think he's won the match-up of Julius Peppers vs. stud LT.

OMFG, that would be so funny!! The only thing stupider than that would be a team paying Jake Delhomme 12 million dollars not to play!!!
