Since Richardson isn't trying too spend on the team do we get a discount as fans?

Seriously?

You only spend money on the team you support if they win?

That is genuinely pathetic. If that is not the epitome of a bandwagon fan then I do not know what is...

For the last 8 years or so we have not finished worse than 7 wins, what right as fans do we have to demand more? I would support this team no matter how many wins they tally up, because I support the way it is run and I support the persona they give out. I would hate to support teams who constantly put out players like Pacman and Matt Jones, as you are supporting people who do not appreciate the opportunity they have been given.

Question do you go and watch a bad Movie every week because you like the director and the studio it came from? No matter how bad the food is would you support a resteraunt?

This is were you are wrong we as fans CAN demand our team too do whatever it takes to win. We as fans pay for the owner too get new poo and Player's too buy big houses and 10 or 12 cars. This is more true in charlotte then any where because of PSL. Now Jerry will never say it but if he came out and said we are not worried about 2010 and we aren't going to do much to get a winning team for this year. What will happen? What if he came out and said "That me and my team are going too be example for other teams by not spending money and not doing everything I can too win". What would happen? How would you feel then?

Well, ticket prices would never go down, but for the first time this year the Panthers are offering a payment plan:

Instead of all of it due April 16, you can pay 4/16, 5/16 and 6/16. Its not much, but better than nothing I guess. Of course we don't know how much the fees for this service will be . . .

If you think that ticket sales are the way teams are run then you are solely mistaken. Sponsorships, advertising and TV revenue are the biggest incomes for huge sports franchises, especially in the NFL when there are only 8 regular season home games. Not to mention corporate hires being far more important than casual fans.

Just because people spend $100 on a home game, they think they are paying peoples wages. That is so flat out wrong it's not even funny. The stadiums are often treated as separate entities to the rest of the franchise, where they are built to be self sufficient, generate their own profits and thus make improvements built solely on the ticket sales.

If each individual who attended games felt they can make demands, then the FO would have to hire a whole new group of workers to purely to listen to this demands. Then you have to filter through the MILLIONS of people who know jack poo about running a football team.

What frustrates me, is that these owners can create the most stunning stadiums, provide incredible services and pay millions in staff salaries, yet simply because the team is having a bad year everyone loses their rag. Seriously. People need to look at the whole picture and not just the W/L column. Now if the owner were skimping EVERYWHERE then I could understand your sentiment, however the Panthers are a very well run organisation and they are constantly looking to improve the stadium to give fans a better experience.

Ok, so JR DOES come out and say that we are fundamentally focusing on the future, allowing our current starters to blossom into veteran leaders and giving every guy on the roster a fair shot to become the next best thing. How do you know that we actually WILL lose games???? Just because someone says one thing, it does not mean it's actually going to happen. There have been countless times where teams that shouldn't contend, end up doing exactly that.

How would I feel if he said that? Well, considering I actually understand the importance for financial stability and appreciate the importance of getting the core of a team right, then I could understand with his reasoning. Like I said, that does not mean the team actually WILL lose. If we ended up losing badly, then I would watch more games at home from my TV, but thousands of others would still be wanting to watch them play, considering we only have 8 games to get excited about.

Personally, this purge of the older players, is purely to get the core of the roster set and free from contracts that tie the future of the team up. Simply one year in the future and we will have oodles of cap space and a roster full of young guys with experience. Lock up the ones who are performing, draft, get more guys experience, rinse & repeat. Low and behold you have the makings of a Pittsburg Steelers. Who was their last big signing?

PS

Regarding the movie question. No, of course not, I do my homework and research any movie etc I pay money for. I am well aware of how JR runs his business, so I have no problem paying money on the Panthers.
