Ex Panthers WR's Facebook post

Last year was just the final straw. Go back and watch the previous year. Yes, we went 12-4, but Jake did not play well.

ya after the bye...I just remember the year we went to the nfccg and played seattle. That game made me question him as a good quarterback.

If being a fiery, well liked guy that wore his heart on his sleeve could win football games, Jake Delhomme would have been a great QB...

It did on several occasions throughout his career, but unfortunately enough for he and the Panthers, it didn't happen enough...

I don't have any ill will towards Jake Delhomme, but at the same time, I am almost to a point of elation that he is no longer a Panther... solely on the grounds that he will not have a chance to be in a game situation again...

Will it suck if Moore goes down and someone like Cantwell has to come in? Sure, it's likely to suck... But after such a sharp decline, I'd rather have anyone over Delhomme... He's a guy that can bring life to an offense at times, but can suck that life dry at others...

Do you think that in a year or two your memory of him will change? Speaking for myself, when Warner left the Rams I felt like he had to go...he was simply a turnover machine. But now looking back, his toughness was the main thing that got us through the Tampa Bay and Tennessee games. And if Martz wasn't a total dumbass we'd have two rings instead of one. Hell, maybe even three. The Rams had the Panthers dead to rights in the X Clown game but Martz didn't trust Bulger not to screw it up, so he went for the tie.

My memory of him has changed. Its sad because of what he did do for us as a team. The coaches probably hindered the memory of jake delhomme. If they would have not resigned him for that huge contract and let him go to another team I probably would have a better memory of him. I will never forget Jake Delhomme as a panther and as a good man but I will also never forget his bad performances and the loyalty the coaches gave the guy even after he wasnt good enough anymore.
