From a human perspective, Carter is probably right. They lost a good guy, and anyone who's worked with someone they liked only to see them let go has probably felt the same thing.

From a football perspective though, he's wrong. It was probably the right move.

So yeah, I can understand why he'd say it, but it's wrong.

His message was to the fans, not the front office.

Understood, but there are fans (some, anyway) who are able to understand that a team, like any other workplace, has its human aspects. Take Scott O'Brien. Great coach, but folks who had to work with him couldn't stand him. If you're not in that environment, you don't get why a good coach is allowed to leave. People on the inside understand.

Hurney and Fox were teary eyed because they knew what they were losing. Fans on here are jumping up and down. That was his point.

I wasn't. I thought it was a shame that a good guy had to see his story here end badly.

But with that said, from the perspective of what's best for the on-field product, I agree with the decision.

Truth be told, there are likely more sad endings than happy ones in football.
