I love me some Jake, but at this point I have no confidence in his ability to play (and neither does he). We made a huge mistake with the contract extension we gave him and this uncapped year bailed us out... this had to be done.

Not sure why we didn't at least keep Jake as a #2 this year?? He could help Matt a lot with experience and has always been an emotional leader on the field. Would we had to have paid him more money if he was kept as a #2 this year? then why let him go besides freeing up another roster spot?

Because he's too big of a leader so it'll be harder for Moore to become the big leader on the offense and at the first sign of a downturn in Moore's play which is going to happen one week or another people will call for his head. Moore needs that vote of confidence and team imo, will feel a measure of loss which will force them to rally around Matt Moore, it's a heartbreaking decision for the team from a personal standpoint but a perfect tactical one from a financial and motivational one.

Yea that wouldn't have come from any WR we've had that's played with a good QB. Like Rickey Prohel who got to play with Kurt Warner, a two time league MVP, Super Bowl MVP, and future HOFer.

Jake Delhomme made the Pro Bowl once....I think.
