My comment is that they looked good in limited play. I have no idea how this offseason and the next season plays out. However, you must replace older vets with younger player all the time. If either were 1st and 2nd rd picks, the same people bitching would be screaming that they must be played.

Kemo was replaced by pulling Thomas off the street (after not playing for 2 seasons). And guess what.....Thomas performed better than Kemo had for two seasons.

Lewis is average...decent rotational guy. But, we have Leonard, Tyler, and Irvin. These young guys are hungry and a hell of a lot more athletic. When exactly are you going to get them on the field if your strategy is to keep rolling out the same mediocre vets?

I like what I see at DT. I also am deferring total judgement until I see how the draft and the rest of FA plays out.

I prefer not to be that idiot running around in the streets screaming that the sky is falling and the world is ending. I will leave that up to you.

that is what is wrong with this issue. they have looked good in LIMITED PLAY. They have played all of 2 games here and are coming of off season ending injuries. sorry if i dont annoint them as the best tackles in the nfl.

my strategy would be to EASE them into the starting position like most other teams not doing a salary dump. by your strategy every team should dump all their vets every time a new draft class or undrafted rookie comes in. gotta give em a chance sometime right? how many teams do you know of have replace their entire dline and have gotten better?

i am not saying the sky is falling. i am saying that this team as of right now is not better like everyone wants to believe just because we cut people. i cant drink the kool-aid yet. people may be happy because all these cuts are exciting but we have yet to see if all these cuts equal to results on the field.

This is how you do it.:hurray::hurray:

So if somebody hasn't played much yet, that guarantees that they will suck? There was a time when Smitty had not played much WR too, but that turned out OK. The coaching staff knows 10 times more about these young players than any of us do.

no. just doesnt guarantee that they are probowl monsters either. i personally would have liked to see a more smooth transition to our younger players. i could compare this to a bball team. if you had your veteran starting five would you bench or get rid of all of them for the guys riding the pine all at one time? no. you would mingle them in with vets and as they got used to the position THEN they can take over. you ever see the end of a blowout game when all the subs are in and how oncoordinated it looks? thats what happens you have too much inexperience crowded into one area.

Why do you kepp making these Dumbass statments. How do you know how hungry they are they only played 2 games and got HURT. That's another thing all these boys are coming off a injury. Lewis has one thing over all of them he is a leader and knows more savy vet moves then them. Do you remeber the whole cutting Keyshawn thing. DJ would be a better player right now if FOX and CO. wouldn't have cut Key. These guy need a vet too help them thru and who would be better then lewis. You act like all these guys played a whole season with this team and know what they are doing. WRONG none of them has played more then 5 games all togther.

so your plan would be to keep the same aging vets and not play the younger guys. got it.

Again, I am not saying which is right or wrong. Just stating my opinion.

And as I have said, I will not make any overall judgement until I see how the rest of the offseason plays out. You assume that the panthers are not going to make any additional moves after the draft. Based on the # of players we have under contract, I assume that we will.

I will defer total judgement until after all of the information is in....rather than jump to conclusions and assume the sky is falling after only 5 days of FA.

Never said they were probowl monsters.....and neither were Kemo of Lewis. They were average players .

Dam is it that hard too think that maybe you keep 1 fuging guy who knows your system and played more the 2 games with your team. Plus he is not coming off a injury too help the guys who haven't played more then 5 games for you combined. You must not have insurance or like a smooth transition. You must quick cold turkey on everything.

I don't see how it hurts too have 1 vet who has been on your team for more then 2 games too help the other out.

how long do you think it will be before they come together as a unit?

How in the hell is anybody supposed to answer that? How long would it take a bunch of overpaid FA's to come together as a unit? Who the hell knows?

Wait, what were you complaining about?

nothing. just concerned. i worry about our young guys working together at first. vets know the tricks of the trade from years in the trenches. they can sniff out stunts and screens and delays. they are less likely to overpursue, they know what time they need to put in the film room and other areas to make things work, in game adjustment, leadership.

People don't remeber that Buckner was that kind of guy he would call all line assignment and let Rucker, Pep, and Jenk know about screens and snap counts. We don't have that right now and it would be easy too have Kept Lewis too help these guys get the system and teach some tricks of the trade. We don't have that right now.
