CJ has always been pretty good in limited action. Only thing I worry about with him is that he was BIG last year. Guess we had him bulk up for when we slid him inside. Dude looked like a DT not a DE.

I think Brown does good this season. It was known if he went to a team as a 4-3 end he'd need some time to get a little bigger. We just need 2 more upside/rotational guys there (draft pick and FA probably) unless Taylor progressed. I thought he (Brown) looked pretty good last season to be honest, especially near the end.

More worried about DT than DE right now. We look scary bad at DT as it stands, but it's still really early.

Leonard and Tyler are as good as Lewis and Kemo

CJ regressed? Ok, that says it all. There is officially no hope for you.

CJ had 4 sacks last season in a very limited role. Peppers only had 10.5 sacks as the starter. Which one do you think underachieved?

Both but one was suppose too make a jump in numbers he went from 6 sacks too 4 sacks and was not nearly as good against the run as he should have been.

Lets see 1st who here didn't expect CJ too beat out Brayton for the starting job. He didn't. He had more sacks and pass defecltion the year before. I was and other people on this site not to mention the coaching staff expected him to make the jump too double digit sacks. If you didn't think that CJ should have had a way better season then he did then their is no hope for you.

You keep making general statments with no Fact too back you up.

Leonard play 2 games and got hurt same for Tyler. When did they show you they were just as good???? Plus neither one has been a leader or has vet savy Like lewis, Kemo, or Hollis. Again I like the Kemo cut but we should have kept Lewis. If not just for his leadership.

that is my point also. everyone is so hypocritical. when the season ended most thought that we just needed a change a qb and maybe let pep go and we would be set next year. now all of a sudden with the fo cutting people left and right , this is all part of some awesome plan or youth movement for the fo.

none of the guys mentioned have started for more than a year. people may say well thats not that bad but if you put them ALL TOGETHER with their inexperience that makes a huge difference. we might as well just draft an entire rookie d-line. who knows how long it will take them to get used to playing next to each other and really into the scheme. they all have different techniques and weaknesses that they will have to get used to.

the one thing with a complete "youth movement";), like what we are doing is that if someone sucks, you may not have a reliable vet to replace them with. you may have to go to a younger even more inexperienced player. this year is a huge gamble. if these young guys dont pan out it will take 3-4 years to figure that out and then you have to draft some one else after that.

Another thing i've been thinking about lately is who in the history of the NFL goes too a youth movement with a lame duck FO????? I can't think of any team that has ever gone threw a youth movement with a FO on a 1 year contract. Don't you usely want these guys too learn 1 system and not have too learn a new one the next year.

good point. that only leads two conclusions: 1. this is a youth movement and fox gets a extension and keeps continuity

2. this is not a youth movement and is in fact a salary dump termed as a "youth movement"

Could be. Hopefully you're right, because they haven't shown it yet.

unless you've been scouting the rams or kansas city how would you know what they've shown?

tyler played in several games and performed as noticeably as kemo or lewis... and both are younger with more potential.

My comment is that they looked good in limited play. I have no idea how this offseason and the next season plays out. However, you must replace older vets with younger player all the time. If either were 1st and 2nd rd picks, the same people bitching would be screaming that they must be played.

Kemo was replaced by pulling Thomas off the street (after not playing for 2 seasons). And guess what.....Thomas performed better than Kemo had for two seasons.

Lewis is average...decent rotational guy. But, we have Leonard, Tyler, and Irvin. These young guys are hungry and a hell of a lot more athletic. When exactly are you going to get them on the field if your strategy is to keep rolling out the same mediocre vets?

I like what I see at DT. I also am deferring total judgement until I see how the draft and the rest of FA plays out.

I prefer not to be that idiot running around in the streets screaming that the sky is falling and the world is ending. I will leave that up to you.

Why do you kepp making these Dumbass statments. How do you know how hungry they are they only played 2 games and got HURT. That's another thing all these boys are coming off a injury. Lewis has one thing over all of them he is a leader and knows more savy vet moves then them. Do you remeber the whole cutting Keyshawn thing. DJ would be a better player right now if FOX and CO. wouldn't have cut Key. These guy need a vet too help them thru and who would be better then lewis. You act like all these guys played a whole season with this team and know what they are doing. WRONG none of them has played more then 5 games all togther.
