Is there a mechanic AND an electrician in tha house?

My trusty Montero needs a new EGR valve. Got a buddy who is going to replace my alternator for half of what a franchise wanted to charge so that's good.

EGR showed up during the last insepection. My buddy has never replaced that so anyone?

For the electrician part. Got an old house so between plumbing creativity done over the years the same and wiring its goofy.

Installing a new dishwasher and the last crew to do it finagled the wires so it would work. My plumber has redone all the plumbing but now can't move ahead until the wiring is done right.

Throw me some ideas/names/love.

I've replaced EGR valves on other vehicles before. Spray it with PB blaster before the work is started. It's usually more of a pain in the ass to get to them then it is to actually replace one.
