Cam does a great job on his podcast. The thing that stands out to me is he welcomes people of all races. He's not just interviewing people from the black community. He's even welcomed people who has bashed him in the past guys like Florio and Warren Sapp. Even the chick from ESPN who trashed him a few weeks back.

Cam is genuinely a good dude. Which is why I don't understand why there is people in this fanbase who genuinely hates him.

Cam gave his all when he was playing for Carolina...as well as Luke...total fluke we didn't win a bowl with them...You can always blame it on the coaches...

The league may never see a Dude quite like Cam. Agreed on the haters I defended him on many occasions to so called "Panther Fans".

I mean, he should be a first ballot HOFer.  I think Luke is technically the best football player Carolina has ever had.  Others played more entertaining positions.  Luke technically the best at his craft vs how good others were at theirs.

Luke's career was definitely more consistent but peak Cam was otherwordly at times. Greatest football I've ever seen was him carrying defensive lines and that time he ran backwards like twenty yards, dodged every defender, and still picked up a big gain.

I think if you asked Cam, he would agree, but part of what made Cam who he was on Sundays was going up against the defense in practice. TD and JNo talking poo to him and Cam pushing back, even getting into the fight with JNo. Who on our defense now is pushing Bruce like that? Talking poo to him? Probably no one and I imagine Bryce wouldn’t handle it as well as Cam, but it would make Bryce better in the long run if he got that kind of competitive edge to him

I agree.  I never understood the Cam hate.

I wanted Patrick Peterson in that draft and was so against him because of the back story of his Dad negotiating  paydays for him and the laptop thing and then his pre-season was abysmal.

But then he just came out in the regular season and played football like Magic Johnson played basketball.   Year's go by and I never heard of him doing anything to compromise the integrity of the team or bring shame to the organization.  HE DID EVERYTHING EXACTLY RIGHT.

Even if I wanted to hate him, I couldn't.   With  competent coaching he would be wearing 2 or three rings.

Also Luke was the best I ever saw in person to play the position.  But so was Cam.

I didn't want him because I thought he ran a gimmick offense and I HATED that Allbarn team that year(should have had like 5 losses but they kept winning). I believe my quote was, "Drafting Cam Newton will be the biggest mistake in franchise history."

That crow turned out to be very delicious.

Cam and Luke. Superman and Captain America. Miss them and that team. Glad to see they’re still cool with each other. You could tell with that hug, they genuinely rock with each other.

I think that was always the case. Remember the clip of Cam and Luke on the phone with Norman before they played the Redskins? You could tell there they had a genuine friendship.

I think Bryce would handle it actually. Old videos of him and CJ ribbing each other makes him seem like a guy who's used to it and knows how to roll with the punches. Problem is he's nice so everyone just wants to adopt him.

I agree completely, but that’s a testament to Luke imo. Maybe I’m just sour but I feel going to 3-4 did him no favors and possibility contributed to the length of his career or at the least the quality of the tail end. But he’s Luke, he’ll ball out regardless.

Don't blame that on Ron, just another Tepper blunder

    • They gave him franchise QB money. Sorry but if you don't earn it you can be embarrassed.   He's rich he can take it. Stop feeling sorry for people who can't live up to their contract. This isn't a sport to be soft. Daniels deserves to give back some of that money he stole if you ask me.
    • And it was coming off of a bye week. Perhaps he should vacation a bit in Germany in the off season, something certainly seemed to help him there.  No, really... He showed maturation and the possibility that he's turning a corner. That wasn't the NY Giants out there, but the back to back Super Bowl champions with the #3 defense in the league, with them coming off of a prime time loss. And that was a 9-1 team we just played literally down to the last second. Bryce played so well that maybe, maybe he wins over some nay-sayers. It's still early, though, but what a nice breath of fresh air that was. You can win quite a few games if that is your normal performance. It is obvious that we are still on the learning curve, though. But that was one helluva test he just took. Some of these QBs coming out of college just don't have a lot of games under their belts, especially in top end programs. They are perhaps just a year to two years behind center in games that matter before they move up. It can take them some time to hit their stride. We can still be cautious about our future and still celebrate a great game by the kid, though, and we should. He earned the laurels today, or had before they were snatched away at the last second.
