What should the rules be then for one? To me if a player spends most of his career here and stands out in both football and community, doesnt have to be a Probowler but needs to be a contributer to the team. BOA is a big place I want to see Statues wrapping around the stadium before I die. At the rate we going there will only be 8 in the next 40 year.

In my opinion Squirrel,Smitty should get one if he continues to play at his present high level and retires as a Carolina Panther.

You are probably about right with the 8 in the next 40 year ratio. That would be 1 every 5 years,which wouldn't be to bad considering how players change teams so often in the modern day NFL.

The Sam Mills who only played 2 years for us? That Sam Mills? Come on man 2 years is nothing. He was a monster in those 2 years but I don't think it's smart comparing him and guys like Delhomme, Minter, Kasay, hell even Peppers. These are guys that are basically career Panthers.

Jake Delhomme is one of the most influential players we ever had. His day is done here but I firmly believe he's right up there with guys like Mike Minter, John Kasay and Sam Mills, who all did great things for the team. When we signed him, we FINALLY became perennial playoff contenders. And he did it for 7 years... well... 6 years.

The guy is gone now. People need to stop hating him. He's not our problem anymore.

It was actually 3 years as a player, which shows how little you know, and coach for us from 1998-2004. You can also make a case that he was as great a motivator/contributor for us getting to the Super Bowl in 2003 just as much as Jake or Fox that year. If not, then MORE.
