One thing that will be worth watching

The Bears' front office is spending with "reckless abandon", exploiting the uncapped period while they can, while the Panthers' front office seems to be pulling their belt straps in. I think that it will be worth noting, both in the long and short term, which team (approach) leads to the better outcome.

I am going to sit back and scrutinize this thing for at least the next five years.

I could just be my own wishful thinking, but I see our FO as being more successful in both the short and long term.

Bears FO is proving how dumb they are.

1) Giving WAY too much up for Cutler

2) Blaming the offensive line, wide receivers, run game, defense.. basically EVERYONE except Cutler for his mistakes.

3) Giving him an extension

4) Going on a spending spree on the first day in free agency when there could very well be a lockout in 2011 or if not, a cap back in place. A lot of people are going to lose their jobs if this whole thing goes wrong.

It won't go wrong but it won't go right, either. A few people will lose their jobs, it might not be apparent who all will at first, and there will be murky waters for them. That's how it always goes, really.

They are still stupid and it's not going to help them in the least (all of the spending).

Well, the only way I can see 'things going right' is if Bears win the SB. Any other outcome means their experiment has failed.

and to be honest, depending on if Favre comes back or not, Bears are the 3rd best team in their own division. Doesn't matter how good their defense is, their offensive line is still completely garbage, they still don't have a legitimate set of receivers, and their TE Olson wants out.
