He had 2 things going against him from the jump. 1. He was drafted by Fitterer.  2. Rhule never wanted him in the first place.  As a bonus he wasn't very good to begin with.

Fitt looked like fug this job when he had Tepper on one ear telling him to pull the trigger and Rhule on the other side getting all excited about playing GM on the phone making the trade up with the Patriots. Whole set up was a poo show

Kind of makes you wonder the level of entry to the NFL at certain positions. Maybe at QB it’s more muddled water. But it seems like if you were good in Highschool with some athletic talent and the ability to throw 60 yards and not be a moron in college you could potentially make 500k- 1 million until the league figured out you were a scrub.

I got poo on for saying that at the time.

In fairness, your therapist may have had a point.

Seriously, mental health is important and should probably be more of a measured ability when scouting a player.  Not to say, "That kid is crazy" but to put him through an emotional intelligence examination.  I used to use them on my freshmen college students when I taught the intro course called "{College Name} Journey"  We found that certain types of emotional maturity, sometimes tied to mental health, were predictors of success and failure.   Maybe something like that.

I think the overall point in all of this, if he got to even that point as a nfl qb prospect then you are already starting way behind the 8 ball with his development probably best to let another team try to figure that out.  Thats why I believe stroud had the season that he did.  He was mentally ready due to some major adversity that he handled well early in life.  MC had a history of acting out, sometimes violently sometimes with substances as a way to placate whatever was going on.  Same with guys like manziel etc.  The are not mentally mature enough to behave even as an adult and far far from a starting nfl qb

    • Cutting edge analysis below https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-s-top-50-2025-nfl-draft-prospect-rankings-4-0 You gotta remember, Daniel Jeremiah talks to the scouts and GMs..... Notable highlights: #1 Abdul Carter (Edge) #2 Travis Hunter (WR/CB) #3 Ashton Jeanty (RB) #4 Mason Graham (DT) #5:  Jalon Walker (LB) #6 Tyler Warren (TE) #7  Coltson Loveland (TE) #15 Nick Emannwori (S) #22 Mykel Williams (Edge) #32 Mason Taylor (TE--3 TEs in round 1????) WR rankings (oh my!!  This is going to piss some folks off--I don't think a slot WR--Egbuka--should be in the middle of round 1, personally) #16 Matthew Golden (told ya this a month ago!!--you mocked me, some scoffed) #17  Emeka Egbuka (the sleeper we have not talked about enough!) #18  Tetairoa McMillan (according to the NFL Network Path to the Draft Crew-Ross, Brooks, Charles-the comments may have hurt his stock among GMs--I do think it might be a bit overblown, but hey, he raised the red flag--nobody else.  I am sure he will explain his meaning to satisfy GMs) #33 Luther Burden III (he has dropped quite a bit) Noteable Edges NOT in top 50, which means they could be there in the second:  Jack Sawyer, Princely. and my super sleeper pick who could be there in round 3--Josaiah Stewart, Michigan. MHS PREDICTIONS: It sure looks like #5 Jalon Walker Edge will be the pick---Mykel Williams dropped to #22. Most of the players we draft on days 1 and 2 will have a first name that starts with the letter J.
    • I feel like all the guys i think they're going to take will be gone. Graham and walker plus Carter who has no chance. If that's the case I really hope someone wants to jump the saints and we can trade back. I would want Green if he didn't have the accusations
    • I think with walker you have a pretty stable and decent floor.   With some of the others the floor is lower but yeah the ceiling is the roof.   We just cant risk that as a franchise at this point
