Wake up people. He is 31. Unless they are under 25 we aren't going to pick them up. Why get an experienced veteran when we can get someone fresh out of school who is barely shaving for cheap. Who cares if they haven't done anything yet. Only those guys who are a bargain and cheap will be picked up.

Pretty much, this season is a wash. It's all about cutting cost and contracts.

JR is one of the head owners leading the be smart about your money and don't spend it in the uncapped year, shed payroll and set your business up for success later if the league comes back in 2011.

While this may be true, PSL owners and folks who purchase tickets won't see any impact in their wallet; just a marginal at-best product on the field. Fans get screwed in all this.

I don't see how we won't sign a few guys. This whole thing about people needing to be 25 is stupid, it's just a statement people have said over and over again until it becomes fact.

JR is making some tough buisness decisions but we still need 55 guys on the team.

Never said we wouldn't, but they really needed to get a legit second receiver and have failed at it unless they make a trade. I don't see them getting a legit number 2 for this season in the 2nd round of the draft. Jarret isn't that guy either imo.

The players they pick up in FA however will make less then Brayton was. They wanted him to take a paycut to stay with the team..Brayton wanted to be here, so I don't see him asking for that much money....

      I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.

      Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
