In Retrospect: How bad was the Delhomme Extension?

Worse decision by the FO in franchise history IMO.

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Even worse than the Seifert trade.

Reasons

1.) Cut a year later

2.) Huge cap hit this year when he would have been released anyway without the extension

3.) Prior proof of awfulness with the Arizona playoff game among other games during the season

4.) Peppers was let go to free agency

4a.) Blind Loyalty from Fox/Hurney probably was involved :out:

What say you?

Remember how the arms race and Afghanistan bankrupted the Soviet Union?

#2. Still think Gilbert was worse.

Gilbert played 4 season with the Panthers though...I think it might be close.

Those two 1st rounders were stupid and Dom Capers did say this..

"Sometimes you get in a desperate situation and you don't ever want to be in a desperate situation. You make decisions based on the fact that you don't have anybody in a position as opposed to being able to sit back and make long-term decisions that you think would be best for the organization." But Capers quickly realized he had sacrificed too much of Carolina's future for Gilbert. "There was a lot of discussion on that and my initial reaction was that it was too much," he said.[9]
