Anyone know when the Jake press conference is?

I don't see how anyone can continue to hold a grudge against him after seeing that. You see players all the time who seem to ONLY care about their money, their endorsements, can't play until I get a new contract. Did Jake get paid well? Absolutely. But if the only thing he cared about was his bank account, you can bet your ass he doesn't walk out there with that much emotion. He went out there with the intention of saying goodbye and his emotions got the best of him. It happens.

Jake gave his heart and soul to the Carolina Panthers. Was it time for him to go? Yeah, it was. But why the hell would you continue to rip on him now? To make yourself feel better? I wish every player in that locker room cared as much about this franchise as he did.

I couldn't agree more. My oldest Brother was in the Navy 12 years, similar situation. My Dad has been a Raleigh firefighter for 24 years, he doesn't want to retire because he loves it so much, and he loves the guys he works with, but he has to retire at 62.

Yes, Jake gets paid an exorbitant amount of money for what he does, but it's the passion that makes him who he is.

The ones who are jealous about the money and call Jake a pussy, are the very types of personalities I wouldn't want playing for the Panthers. Thank god none of you are good enough to suit up and play in the NFL...

Fire and Police and the military are fraternities like that. Very hard to let go even if you don't make it a career. I think it has to do with the closeness is developed between the people you work with. Working towards one goal.

Nice post. It's good to read something that's written by a grown up every once in a while.

Thank You

Finally, someone who has actually worked for something and know what it means.

*SLOW CLAP*

Thank You too.

That interview was heartbreaking. I'm crying watching it. Our coaching staff did not put him in a position to win in both the playoff game against AZ and the past season. I think that falls on Davidson. Or maybe Fox in trying too hard to get Jake's mojo back.

I wish all of our players cared that much. Hell, if Pep cared half as much, can you imagine how well he'd do?

I hope that Jake's intensity rubbed off on Matt and that Matt is the leader that Jake was.

I wish Jake the very best.
