DL as of Now?

Recommended Posts

Thats almost half the Dline roster (Landri wont be on this team come November and I don't even know who this Eric Moore is). What do you want exactly? 300 lbs DEs? The only guy I see seeing significant playing time who is on the smaller side is Brown and he was getting pretty good pressure even as a rookie not playing much.

Its still early in the off-season. The 1st day of FA isn't even over and the draft hasn't been held. People are overreacting. Who cares what size the dline is, if this D is playing like it did at the end of the season. And lets not forget who still is HC. I see them coming to a comprimise. I wouldn't mind having some big bodies in the middle to stop the run and undersized speed rushers coming off the edge to get pressure on the QB.

Not "overreacting", simply pointing out that the overall size of the line is going down, following the current trend in the NFL and falling in line with Meeks' previous personnel in Indy. Like you, I don't care as much about the overall size of the group as I do about the talent level, which is currently lacking. It needs an infusion of talent to be effective in its current state. I'm not howling for an immediate answer, just pointing out more moves need to be made with this group, moreso than any other one as a result of these last cuts.

I think leonard, Tyler, and Irvin will be very good players for us. Johnson...who knows. Hayden...plays like a girl.

I think the group has the talent its only experience that they lack. In there 1st year here Tyler/Leonard/Brown looked good in what little they got to play. But I agree we do need to pick up a vet or two.
