Add Jake To The Ring of Fame

Recommended Posts

Well said. Always respected him as a football player and a man. He will not be forgotten and surely the joy of watching him lead my team to victories sunday after sunday will be cherished throughout my lifetime as a Panther fan. In reality, though, this is a move in the right direction for our team but this organization would be quite different without 17.

God bless, hope to see his face around soon.

After the entire year of 2009, beginning with the playoff debacle at home, the only place I want to see Jake added to is the ring of fire.

LOL What has Jake won to deserve this?

You don't want to devalue the ring by honoring above to average players. Maybe Smith one day or Beason if he stays and we win. However, to honor Jake just because he was part of the John Fox era of empty wins and mediocre seasons is unnecessary.

Ring of honors and jersey retirements are for ELITE players which jake never was. Just because he was the best in panther history doesn't mean he's a hall of ringer. It just means the panthers have never had a qb that was worth a poo. Panther fans have this obsession with throwing out statues to everone and retiring jerseys left and right

Jake kept this team afloat many times when he had no supporting cast. Our running game was absymal after Steven Davis. A ton of injuries and won many games because of his leadership. Because he didn't win the Super Bowl he was at fault right? He had every tool necessary to win it all just didn't get it done? So Archie Manning and Dan Marino weren't ELITE players right. He is and was just as valuable to this team as Sam Mills was. Do I think he deserves a status. No. Ring of Fame. Absolutely. Mark My words. He will be on it. Soon.

how can you put a cut player in the ring? kind of contradicts the decision if you ask me.

That has absolutely nothing to do with what he did for this team. Pretty shallow thought process.

call my thoughts shallow if you want. i see it more logical. he gave us some good times, but he also gave us some bad, and in the end was cut. he didn't leave on his own, and i just don't see it happening at all. much less as soon as you say.

Your opinion and when it comes to be... I told you so.

It is absolutely incredible how short term some peoples memories are. Jake did more to put respectablitiy to the Carolina Panthers than probably any player in our history. Including the Great Sam Mills. A winning record not match by many QB's over the same period.

Drop the vivid memories of 2009 and realize all the great things he did for this team. I can bet most in the organization would agree more with me than you.

So we will leave it at that. After he retires he will be back at half time of a game to reveal his name on the ring inside the stadium. BET ON IT.
