Kind of stupid for the panthers to do that. There is a reason they released him. Old and injuried prone and can not throw good anymore. Good luck to the next that picks him up. I wouldn't surprise me to see Jake not cut but instead retire tomorrow. I'm not buying the 13million in options. Hurney is too good at contracts to allow that to happen. I think now that the word is out that he will be cut, Jake will take the retirement route.

Idk, I trust Glazer more, but the Observer article says "The Panthers have released Jake Delhomme." So, maybe the retirement option isn't available.

I guess JR don't mind paying Delhomme as much when it doesn't count against a cap. Still though, I wouldn't be surprised if Delhomme tore that contract up and re-signed for a lower price either. Say what you will, but Delhomme has always been a team first kind of guy.
