"I’ve never thought that they didn’t think highly of me," said Moore.

That's a lousy excuse for poor performance. First of all those guys were also the ones he practiced with all day so he could develop timing and rhythm with them. He was also playing against third and fourth string defenders. If the guys he was throwing to dropped a ton of balls that might have some legitimacy but I don't recall that at all. The problem was Moore was indecisive, didn't seem to know where to throw the ball and was actually pretty inaccurate in his passing.

Nice try but that dog don't hunt. It was a poor argument last fall and isn't any better this time around either.

Surely it couldn't be that the 3rd and 4rd string receivers weren't getting open could it? Nahh it couldn't be. That would too logical and go against your arguement.

Better.

His preseason numbers were 64% completion rate and a passer rating of 88. To be the starter you have to be better than anyone else not as good or worse. This is the first time that Moore has given the coaches legitimate reasons to make him the starter. I only hope he shows everyone what he can do and snatches the starter role this year. As I have said ad nauseum, Jake isn't the long term solution but hopefully Moore is.

Uh..probably because Jake was throwing to the first team and only played but a few drives....

Its funny all the excuses come out for Jake, specifically from you, of why he was sucking. But for Moore it's just because HE HIMSELF sucked when you would never admit that about Delhomme.

Yet you are spending your time arguing on the Internet.

I guess you can do what you want when you're the owner. Ask Dan Synder!

And about this thread...I hope Matt Moore half-asses training camp and smirk at John Fox while he does it.

"Still don't think highly of me? Start Delhomme...;)"

So, everyone knows exactly how Fox operates and feels. I'm glad I'm the only one who hasn't spent any amount of time with him.

It has been said before that Moore wasn't started earlier in the season strictly because of Moore's personality. And Fox himself has shown where his loyalties lie and has stated before that he couldn't look at Jake with a straight face and tell him he's being benched.

Arguments about preseason 08'... this is amazing.

If anyone wants to argue about anything. It should be about LAST season.

But it's irrelavent. Matt Moore is going to start this season, barring injury. If Fox wants an extension MM is going to start. And I would think Fox wanted an extension because if he didn't want to be here then he would have opted out.

This is about Moore not Jake. And yeah Jake sucked last year. Takes the wind out of all those arguments doesn't it?

That was Zod who interpreted it as personality. All of the writers and ex players said it was because he didn't know the playbook, had a poor practice ethic, didn't watch film or take things seriously. That isn't personality but attitude and work eithic. Big difference.

Said by who? Do they know Fox?

That tender just said more about how Fox feels about Moore than anything he will ever say out loud. Then again, he will not be calling Moore out in public when he has a bad game either, much to the chagrin of some fans who will turn on Moore in a second if he has a couple of bad games.
