I think it's funny that people feel so certain about the idea that the Panthers would never associate themselves with Vick...

Yes, I realize the Panthers said "not interested" last year to Vick, but that's when they thought they still had a legitimate veteran starting QB... we're all painfully aware that lots of things have changed in Pantherland since they registered that opinion last year. On top of that, Fox and Hurney are fighting for their jobs right now, if they thought Vick could help them make the playoffs I'm sure they would put the full court press on Mr. Richardson to trade for him and I'm not so sure Mr. Richardson wouldn't at least consider it.

Much of the controversy surrounding Vick has dissolved at this point, so from a PR standpoint it wouldn't be that big of a deal... so this leaves you with the question of whether or not he's worth the compensation the Eagles would require and whether or not he's a legitimate option at QB. Folks point out all of Vick's shortcomings as a QB and there are legitimate concerns, but you also have to acknowledge that he's a playmaker and he basically carried the Falcons to an NFC championship game. That NFC championship game was a loooong time ago, but it demonstrates he has/had the capability to get you one game away from the superbowl.

Matt Moore has show allot of promise, but it was essentially in garbage time. The season was already lost at the point Matt hit the huddle. You can't discount what Matt was able to do, but you also shouldn't be willing to bet the whole season on him at this point.

I'm not writing this because I'm a Vick supporter or hater, I'm writing this in response to the idea that there is no way we would consider Vick... I think it's too early to jump to that conclusion.

Okay, I see the "Vick" filter is still in place so nobody wants to talk about this... glad I wasted my time typing up a sincere and thoughtful post on this subject.

I'll return to posting fart jokes and animated gifs of boobs since that seems to be what most people on here are interested in.

Right, because it's too scary to talk about "Vick" becoming a Panther.

I am really starting to wonder if there's a degree of racism involved in this argument?

No racism. Just saying the past 4-5 Vick topics have been closed by the mods. Everyone is tired of hearing it.

That wasn't necessarily directed at you, sorry.

I just don't understand the source of the emotion that seems to drive people's objection to Vick... makes me wonder.
