Richard Marshall gets 2nd rd. tender

I don't get why people have a hard-on for Munnerlyn. He is Ricky Manning JR with worse coverage abilities.

This. Plus he gets too many penalties. Marshall was a beast as a Nickel CB. I think we need to get a starting CB on the opposite end of Gamble and put Marshall back in the Nickel.

is anyone besides me horribly torn on the issue of losing marshall for a 2nd?

he certainly hasn't been as good as I thought he was going to be after his rookie year, but he's still very very good, I'm not sure we can TOTALLY replace him without missing a step, and I don't know what we'd do with an extra second.

I agree.People seem to act like a 2nd round pick will be some all pro.Marshall is good and is only 25 so he has room to get better.

if we want to keep marshall, if the money's good, if the pick is too low we'll just match the offer. there will be no poison pill.
Yep, owners can't afford to backstab each other this time around. If somebody overvalues him, we get a good pick for it. If not, we match a decent contract, or pay the tender.

I mean honestly I'd much rather have Marshall than not have him but he's not exactly amazing and the Panthers have never had a problem shaking a bush and finding a DB.

Plus it's their deepest position, and Charles Godfrey's natural position.

Yea he wants Darrell Revis money but dose not play like him. He will get to see exactly how much he is worth in FA. I think its a good move on both parts. If he dose not get any bites he is ours to keep and will be happy to play for us. If he dose get a bite we get a 2nd round pick.
