Richard Marshall gets 2nd rd. tender

I can't be the only one who doesn't think Marshall is anything special to waste money on?

He blew last year (maybe not on the stat sheet), but he made a lot of mistakes.

You are not but I do not think he blows. He is a very good corner but not an elite one. He is a perfect Nickel or a solid #2 but he is by no means worth what Gamble got (which is what he was rumored to be looking for). To be honest I don't think Gamble was worth it.

If he does get sign elsewhere I could see Haden becoming a possiblilty. He had a horrible 40 time for a position that scouts/gms have always overvalues that stat. He could end up falling to the mid to late 1st and then we can package our 2 2nds to trade up and get. Very unlikely but fun to think about.

Marshall is good, but I'm not sure anyone will be willing to give up a 2nd round pick for him at this point.

I don't get why people have a hard-on for Munnerlyn. He is Ricky Manning JR with worse coverage abilities.

Ricky Manning JR was a big help in the playoffs is his rookie year though. He saved us in the Rams game.

I agree about Captain being overrated with fans though, but he was a big steal for a 7th rounder for sure.

I was exaggerating a little bit...he is a solid nickel but overall he is expendable.

Playeers of Richard Marshall's calibur are a dime a dozen, 2nd for him sounds bout right.

marshall is good...but if a team offered a second for him i d ****** it in a heart beat. this years group of corners is extemely deep we could replace him with a solid 3rd rounder. with god and sharrod martin on the roster either could prob fill in for him long enuff for us to find a long term solution.the 2 second round picks would allow us to move both directions and secure a bigger need like golden tate or trade back for more picks....

Two teams picking very early in the 2nd round have a huge need for a CB, Detroit and Cleveland. Marshall is still young enough to fit into their rebuilding plans.

The thinking also may be that.People are viewing this as a very deep CB class.So maybe the panthers feel they could get away with this?

he certainly hasn't been as good as I thought he was going to be after his rookie year, but he's still very very good, I'm not sure we can TOTALLY replace him without missing a step, and I don't know what we'd do with an extra second.
