I don't see whats so wrong w/ Bobcats? And I feel bad for all the people that have bought Bobcats gear, what are they supposed to do? That's tons of money that's pretty much gone down the drain. I mean imagine if the Panthers did that, and you had to buy all new stuff?

It is quite shocking how people are clamoring to erase all memory of Bob Johnson from the team. Jordan will keep the name as an homage to the man who helped him get the franchise. Without Johnson's help, it's unlikely he would ever be in position to purchase an NBA franchise.

We don't have much history, which makes it even more important to respect the history that we do have. We're not an expansion team. We're the Bobcats and the Bobcats we should stay.

What other team would be confronted by this issue after a sale? I hate to play the reverse race card here, but this type of animosity for the name of the franchise is veiled bigotry.

I wasn't really a fan of Bobcats when it was chosen (I liked Flight), but there is no need in changing it. I'm not a huge fan of the logo, but that is a cheaper and easier fix than changing the name.

But seriously, I think a name change is a bad idea for a team trying to build a fanbase. Lets focus our efforts on improving the product.

Eh, Bobcats has kind of grown on me even though I'm a Lakers fan first and foremost. The logo definitely needs to be redone though or at least get a nice alternate logo on a third uni.

For sure, it was actually dumb luck that got me into the Panthers. I really wasn't into the NFL then in 1994 my parents got promotions at IBM where they both work, for the promotions they had to relocate to Charlotte. I decided since the Panthers were just starting up it was a perfect time to get into the NFL, best decision ever!! I try and support all the local teams though, Bobcats and Canes included unless they are playing the Lakers or the Ducks. Cant support any other college teams though was born a Trojan will die one.

Definitely sorry for getting edgy when I wear my USC/Dodgers/Lakers/Ducks gear out in public I get ish like that all the time.
