TMJ and Chark were terrible.

I mean you can clearly watch the film and see that in 1 out of 3 drop backs Young didn't have anywhere to go with the football in multiple games and multiple times this season. You pair the WR struggles with the Oline struggles on top of having an undersized nonathletic QB under center and it's quite easy to see what the problem was. Nothing fit together and every unit underperformed. Throw all of that in with a bland archaic offensive philosophy with no real direction and you have one of the worst offenses ever assembled in NFL History. Young wasn't good but he was far from being the only reason why this offense was so poo.

Did you make up that statistic or did you actually watch the tape with a clipboard in hand to count the number of plays where our receivers were open vs not open? Don't answer it, that was a rhetorical question.

And what offensive line struggles are you referring to? The line has been average. In fact, it was above NFL average for the 1st half of the season, during which our receivers were getting NFL average separation per PFF, and yet Bryce was among the absolute worst at finding open receivers. These are facts beyond dispute. I thought Bryce was heralded as a super processing savant who was the most NFL-ready QB in the draft, which was why we sold the farm to draft him. Well? How did that work out?

I still think the Bengals are a trade partner for TMJ, pair him back up with Burrow and Chase, might be the best way to get something out of him.

Plus they are going to lose Higgins this offseason, so it makes sense that they might want to see if those two can rejuvenate his career.

Burns + TMJ for Higgins and a 3rd would work for me

Higgins is a FA so why trade for him?

If we can land Higgins and pair him with Thielen and bring back Chark on a cheap deal as our #3. That wouldn't be bad trio IMO.

Because there is about a .1% chance that the Bengals just let him walk in FA.

They’re going to tag and trade him

And hellllll noooooo on Chark coming back, what a bum

In my opinion, we are going to need a deep guy or two.  Not sure where I read this, but Baker was 6th in passes (completions) over 30 yards and second in the NFL in completions over 40 yards.

I need to watch some Bucs video to see what Baker did.  Now, he played to Baker's STRENGTHS, not his height, which would be a weakness.  I am not of the mindset that Bryce's strength is the same as Baker's, so I have to wonder.  It could mean that he likes the deep ball to the big WR--so he turned Baker's weakness into an advantage for Evans.

He had to play the players he had.

The players he will have to play here?  Mingo.  Not sure if we keep Thielen or anyone else.  Maybe Smith Marsette.  The good news?  Canales will have a big voice in picking his WR room.  I think we give TMJ one more season, maybe the light comes on in the new system and he finds his groove.  I think we draft 2 WRs and I think we bring in a free agent.  Not sure about TE.  He will want a better dual threat RB than Chubba.

Maybe it's just his air, but Dave mentioned him by name and seemed kind of excited when speaking of RBs. I think we look to improve that position, but it was funny to me he mentioned Hubbard and not Sanders lol

Sanders was a ridiculous signing, another obvous and easily avoidable screw-up that the FO stil managed to bunder into. He might be worth keeping around at a fraction of his salary but sure isn't worth what he's getting.

Tyler Boyd is also a free agent, so the Bengals can't keep both him and Higgins and can't tag both either.

Yeah Chark is a bum #1 or even #2, but as a #3 or #4? He's solid enough for that. He had the one monster 2 TD game with Bryce late in the season. He shouldn't be expensive to keep.

Ultimately, we can find #1 in FA then we can draft BAP player or a stud TE.

Yes, I think Chubba is going to be the guy, but a dual threat back  on passing downs would be a nice touch.  Sanders was such a bad addition, and I was angry when we grabbed him.  You simply don't have to pay RBs a ton of money and you don't go after RBs that ran behind the best OL in football and compensate them for their production.  In Philly, he was often not touched until he was 4 yards up field.

Yeah I'd like to grab one in the draft every 2 seasons or so. Just constantly refreshing that position. Worst case he's trade bait at the deadline if we're log jammed
