TMJ and Chark were terrible.

Tepper should use his massive wallet to try to steal the Steelers' WR scouts/coaches away from them

Most of our issues have been bad drafting and poor cap management. Then coaching staff or the lack thereof. The only way to fix this is with better decision making by the FO. If that is improved it will shorten the time it would take for the coaching staff to make something out of this mess.

As bad as Hurney was Fitterer was so much worse it's comical. For all his foolishness our last legit WR was still a Hurney pick.

To have been as abysmal as the Panthers have been at drafting you would think we would have reset the scouting department.

As much as I'd like to think positive about Morgan it's difficult to invision us suddenly nailing drafts if we're relying on the same scouts. It also doesn’t help that Morgan worked closely with Fitterer and as far as we know signed off on many of our failures.

I still believe in Bryce's talent. This chart just further proves that he needs more help. Thielan gets separation and Bryce delivers him the ball, Thielan is our first WR to post 100 rec, 1000 yds in a season since Steve Smith in 2005! Keenan Allen could be a cap casualty and would really help our offense.

I can’t see them letting Allen go. Now Mike Williams or Josh Palmer could be up for grabs.

It's pretty wild how terrible this franchise has been at drafting WRs.

By far the best WR in franchise history was a mid-round pick drafted in large part for his abilities as a returner.

They should try that again. The return game could use a good boost if nothing else.

Yeah there has been a fundamental break down at either the scouting process or the development stage on our WRs.

There has been atleast 6-7 1st or 2nd round WRs that have been busts that we have drafted. Then you compare the amount of WRs other teams have drafted in the later rounds that have been studs there is something we are doing wrong.

This is so true. On the Super Bowl teams, the 49ers drafted Deebo and Aiyuk in round 2, same for the Chiefs and Rashee Rice. These are impact players and we end up with the TMJs of the world in the 2nd

KB, Lafell, Funchess, Samuel, TMJ, Mingo.

all 1st through 3rd round picks. All meh to bad. It’s been rough for us getting good WRs.

Chark has a smart agent, all his cap next year is already payed so we save exactly $0 if we cut him.

So he stays, and we hope he can be a decent number four.

He signed a one year deal no?

I don't think it's fair to lump Mingo in with any of the other busts yet. Certainly not if the people doing so are more than willing to give BY a clean slate.

The reality is as much as our drafting and development of talent needs to improve so does our leadership across the board. It's fair to wonder if someone like TMJ ever stood a chance here anyway. We are completely devoid of any leaders. As much as Canales will help in this area we also need our #1 pick to step up. He needs to be connected at the hip with his receivers and developing rapport.
