OK, helping my daughter with some home work. The excercise, find the area of a Space Shuttle wing. We figure the area at 874.59 whereas the book says it's 846.6 in the back. Tell us where we're wrong.

I got 874.6.

On the NASA drawing you'll note the unnecessary "c" side lengths are not given. I calculated the unknown sides by subtraction and Pythagorean method to confirm since the were.

Rectangle: (35.75)(7.2)=257.4

Triangle: 1/2(7.2)(24.25)=87.3

Triangle: 1/2(23.3)(25.95)=302.318

Total: 875.358 sq. ft.

Total: 875.358 sq. ft.

Triangle is supposed to be 24.3 not 24.25 (60-35.7)

2nd triangle is supposed to be 25.9 not 25.95 (35.7-9.8)

Everything else is perfect
