Doubling down on Young. I don't like it. We NEED Young insurance.

There's some serious coping going on in this thread tonight. I get it. With the new head coach people want to try to look for any positives. But it all begins with Bryce himself. We need him extremely motivated and ready for a 180 from how he has been doing things to this point in his life. He's finally hit a brick wall and he isn't playing at Alabama anymore with superior talent around him. And hopefully he's realizing he has a significant amount of work to do in getting himself up to par phsyically to match the competition level this league requires for his position. This adversity will either be the moment that defines him for the better or he will revert to what he's always done and we draft another QB in 2025. Personally I hope to see him doing big things in the gym and working closely with his receivers. We'll see what changes await.

I mean @LinvilleGorge watched college football and has eyes.  He knows talent.  Anthony Richardson could still be something amazing.

My problem with this board (and literally society) is how much people follow the crowd and in some ways incite shet.

I am fine going against the norm…but it scares little people

LMAO I called Linville on his fakeness yesterday.

Dude is hilarious with his neutral QBs. He will say he likes a QB then turn on them as soon as they are eliminated.

Like dude you just said you were neutral on this QB last week. Classic Linville!

Pick a side Linny!

Pick a side then refuse to adjust your opinion regardless of opposing evidence! Just a brilliant way to stumble through life.

So you're just going against the norm for the hell of it? I went against the norm pre-draft voicing the concerns I had about Bryce's physical talent. Not his height and stature. His arm talent and physical ability to make throws in the NFL. I was largely roundly mocked for that. I was ultimately wrong though. Bryce's talent limitations proved to be considerably more significant than I'd even thought.

In all seriousness I hope he can prove us wrong and have a successful season. I'm just looking at his lack of arm talent and I have a hard time seeing how he can significantly improve given what he has to work with on offense.

For those who think we will be a major threat in FA for the top skill players are seriously in denial. Nobody is going to come here given what Bryce put on film last season. So we will be stuck trying to find our talent in the draft. Bryce needs proven talent.

If you think Bryce Young g has ever stepped on a football field at 200+ pounds I have some Atlantic beachfront property here in southern Appalachia you might be interested in. There's a reason why he hid in that hoodie all Combine weekend.

I'm obviously exaggerating with the 170 talk but he's probably legit 185ish.

I’m 5’11 170, he might have 10 pounds on me max

I am completely in the Bryce Young camp.  My personal opinion is that anyone that blames last season on a 22 year old rookie is probably drunk or insane.  How in any logical way could he do anything here?  He is 22.  There is not one player on the offensive team worth really paying.  Everyone was terrible.  Adam Thielan is your #1 option?  Ridiculous

I'm not blaming last season on Bryce Young alone. I'm simply not pretending that he played no role in the debacle as a coping mechanism. I'd feel a lot differently about Bryce moving forward if he had shown flashes of high level talent. He just didn't. He didn't do anything on the field that left me with any hope of him developing into a legit starter much less a franchise QB. I'd love to be wrong about that, but he has a LOT of limitations he's going to have to overcome in order to succeed.

I am not giving up on Bryce without seeing him with a decent supporting cast and pro level coaching.  Bryce needs development just like everyone in his league

My concern is that there doesn't seem to be a lot to work with in terms of development. We gotta be honest and admit that we knew that Bryce was largely being drafted in the belief that he was some type of football savant wunderkind. His physical toolset was never his selling point. The concern with Bryce was that his ceiling might be lower and that he might be closing in on being as good as he's gonna get already. Now I'm seeing most of the Bryce hopefuls trying to create a new narrative that Bryce was some type of developmental prospect. Richardson was the raw talent developmental guy.

It’s laughable to suggest this post this early on in his career.

Bottom 5 oline, bottom 5 WR group, and a terrible scheme that didn’t even have him do what he does best or create open match ups.

you are making up arguments that no one is making. No one is absolving Bryce of being a contributor to the bad product on the field. No one is saying Bryce was a developmental project coming into the league.

the arguments are he wasn’t the main cause of the product on the field, he needs to work on footwork, and the scheme needs to fit his skill set.

It’s getting really tiresome that folks want to make stuff up to create a narrative about Bryce. “Subpar arm, 5’9, 170 soaking wet, already hit his ceiling, etc”

That’s negative iq takes if we are being honest.

i just can't help but to go back & look at how this same exact team that had a bottom 5 WR group, bottom 5 oLine , & a terrible scheme looked so much dramatically different with the backup Qb playing  ...just saying why?

We really looked about the same. Dalton took nearly 60 drop backs. Our running game was ass, we gave up 3 sacks.

Dalton had the same completion percentage Bryce had on the year. Minimally better QBR and qb rating.

all of this we should expect from a veteran QB.

people love to look at daltons yardage total and think he was just dicing up the Seahawks. Compare Daltons game to Bryce’s best games(Green Bay, 2nd Atlanta game, and the Texans game) Bryce played better.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
