Panthers closing in on hiring DAVE CANALES

I wonder if Carroll comes over as a senior advisor type figure - he hired Canales at USC and brought him over to Seattle when he took the HC job there. Canales worked under him for 9 years.

The FA receivers offer very few options...Evans is one of the best available.  My thoughts are to sign one, draft one to go with Thielen.  And though we can wave a bunch of cash at him, I thought he wouldn't be interested in the Panthers.

People keep saying this but its unreasonable.  Unless we severely overpay why would come here when everyone and their brother knows we are going to stick next year

Slowick was my first choice but the more I learned about Canales the more I liked him as a candidate.

He will bring a new energy to the team, I think. Hopefully he can get this poo show turned around.

What the hell is Bryce Young going to do with a dowfield specialist like Evans? On the one hand it would be a giant waste of his talents, but in a silver lining sense perhaps Evans could make occasional lemonade out of those lemons Bryce likes to toss downfield. Not sure why he'd want to try though.
