Not being a big player in free agency? JESUS CHRIST DIE JERRY RICHARDSON YOU BASTARD

Wahle got that because packer fans voted him in, unless you'd like to tell me objectively how he earned the spot.

Moose wasn't resigned because they felt they had his cheaper, younger replacement with Keary Colbert and whelp yeah that turned out well.

Replace Wahle with Adam Meadows. Fans don't usually vote a guy into the Pro Bowl when he leaves their team for someone else. Wahle admitted himself when he got that nod that it was a career vote, and not what he did that season. But to be fair to Wahle, he came to the Panthers because they told him they would use a certain blocking scheme, one that he liked, and then they switched to another. If anyone would call do-over on that signing, it would probably be Wahle.

Meadows, meanwhile, may be the worst signing the Panthers ever had on the offensive line, wouldn't you agree?

in this case they outdid themselves by signing someone who retired three days later.

Allow me to introduce you to the phenomenon known as Packers fans.

he at least gave the money back.

oh excuse me I forgot that anyone in the world considered a career backup, a washed up RB, and a 40 year old WR big names.

Proehl made the key play to beat Jacksonville, and tied the Super Bowl in the final two minutes. Jake wasn't great, but he certainly saved the team's butt when Peete lost whatever he had left. And Jake WAS great in the playoffs. And Davis...how can you complain about that signing? Four straight 100-yard games to open his Panthers career, leading the team to a 4-0 record. And without him do the Panthers win in Philly?

this kind of proves my points thanks for that.

What do you have against Diggs? He didn't break the bank and has been solid for five years.

Fiz, Sometimes you are an ass for no reason, but...this time I think you are on to something. Granted, it's not that this hasn't been said (or at least alluded to) before, it's just that you said it in an entertaining and colorful way.

However, I do think Brandon Marshall, and Anquan Boldin are fairly big names that deserve to be looked at (and you know that realistically this is all that J-Rich is going to do: look), and I believe that they would immediately help our situation on the other side of Smitty. They are proven threats, and J-Rich seems to have some kind of blinders on and a big reluctance to pull his pocketbook out when it comes to making this obvious move. It's only because that I know J-Rich is fundamentally practical (i.e., a cheap ass mofo) when it comes to spending out money that I'll grin, smile, and see what he and the rest of his FO minions come up with in the draft and F.A. Perhaps the likes of a Kevin Walter might be enough.

Did I really say, "Rep!"?

Why spend money on such guys?

We can get Breaston and Walters and put smitty in the slot!

Meat you don't seem to understand what this thread is about. The Proehl, Davis, Diggs and Delhomme signings were not on par with the money, effort, and expectations put into the Hartwig, Wahle, Kemo, Keyshawn, and Lucas signings. All those guys were supposedly the best available at their positions, and most of them, to a degree, were abject failures.

Proehl was washed up, Davis had just been cut, and Jake was nobody. Their contributions aside, they were afterthoughts when they were brought in. That's what this thread is about. How much better the Panthers do when they don't go for the big guy and use the shot gun approach rather than put all their eggs in one basket.

You're barely literate though so I can't expect you to have read the opening paragraphs where I explained ALL OF THAT but you get your very own hand holding post congrats.

The man who runs the pro scouting department for the Panthers started out in ticket sales. True story.

is he actually contributing or does he just manage it because unless he's watching game tape I really don't see a problem.

Anquan Boldin would have to be traded for, and while I wouldn't necessarily be against it because I don't think there are that many holes on the team, Boldin hasn't been healthy in three years and is a VERY old 29.

You cannot have Marshall and Smith on the same team. They'd murder each other.

He's contributing. He and his staff went to bat for Delhomme because they saw him pepping up teammates on the Saints sideline. They saw leadership in him.
