I am going to use my powers for good.

Okay, this day has been down right scarey.

At lunch my wife and I were talking football. She wanted to know who was playing today and who to root for. It's rare to watch football on Sunday and it not be the Panthers so my wife, who loves the Panthers but really could care less about about the NFL until the playoffs, wanted to know some information about the game she "had" to watch.

During the dicussion I made some predictions. I picked NO over ATL, PHI over NYG, PIT over DAL and BAL over WAS. I also made some predictions about tomorrow's game but more on that in a little while.

Before the games started, I turned the channel to one of the Sunday Ticket Channels and pressed the menu button. (For those who do not know, Direct TV has a interactive menu with Sunday Ticket that gives you scores, standings and stats.) One of the thing I always love to do is take the trivia quiz. For the first time ever I got all five questions correct. Good start to the afternoon.

Then the Falcons and Giants lost. I was so happy. My wife laughed at me and said "Lucky Guesses."

As we were watching the Steelers and Cowboys play I was getting really pissed. I truely hate the Cowboys and throught my luck that helped in my two early game picks had died. Then suddenly the game took a turn and Pittburgh scored a feild goal.

My wife chuckled and said "Too little too late, no way they are going to win this game." I imediately replied and said " Watch, they are going to hold Dallas to a three and out and then score a TD to tie the game."

Sure enough, Pittsburgh did just that. Then before they kicked off I turned to my wife and said "Pittsburgh is going to win the game. Watch, the Steelers are going to get a INT for a TD. Just watch and see."

My wife rolled her eyes and chuckled a litte again. Then it happened. It was like I was in that new Adam Sandler movie and everthing I said was coming true. Steelers get the pick-6 and win the game. My wife could barely take it. She hates it when I am right and even more so when it proves her wrong.

As of right now the Ravens are beating the 'Skins 14-0 at the half.

So hopefully my powers last longer than just this Sunday. If they do, the Panthers will win tomorrow 24-14. DeAngelo will have a spot light game getting close to if not over 200 yards and Peppers will come up big with 3 sacks. That was my prediction at lunch today. So far so good.

    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.

    • Mustard BBQ sauce only. Bessingers or Melvin's BBQ sauce.  However Bessingers is the best in the world, Melvin is 2nd.    I found this article    In fact, the New York Times Magazine described the sauce as “terrifically balancing the tangs of mustard and vinegar with a wood fire's charry flavor.” While helping his dad, Joseph “Big Joe” Bessinger, as a teenager in the kitchen of the family's first restaurants, Thomas learned the secret recipe for the gold sauce – ... https://www.bessingersbbq.com › t...
