Three guesses where we land šŸ˜•

The in-vogue thing is to sh!t on the Panthers for some easy laughs so obviously at the bottom.

The GM search is a whole different animal than the HC search. The idea that Tepper is firing GMs left and right is laughable. Fitterer was literally the first GM he hired, and he gave him 3 years and 2 coaches; he even waited until the end of the season to quietly let him go.

I donā€™t agree with the other rankings though lol

Agreed. The writer essentiallyĀ presents this as a ranking of ownership:

Ā

My criteria might look something like this:

Ownership
Ownership
Ownership

Ā

but then proceeds to put Mark Davis and Dean Spanos above Robert Kraft.

An AI could have written a more well thought out article IMO.

Is what he says about Tepper wrong, though?

Also don't know that I'd characterize what happened with Rhule and Reich as "giving him two coaches".

Most rankings I've seen have the Commanders as the top available jobĀ

Bingo, so much of a clean slate with #2 pick, money, and new (granted unknown) ownership.

Spanos is a cheap dude and the Chargers are in cap HELL with aging roster so you have a lot more work cut out than you thinkĀ

Iā€™d say

Wash, NE, LV, LA, and Us is my order in appealing-nessĀ

Is flip-flop the Chargers and Raiders.

New England I'm iffy on because you have to follow in the footsteps of Belichick and would have no say in the head coach since he's already hired.

Also worth noting we're the only job in the group without a high (or any) first round pick.

Yea...Chargers are 45m over the cap with another 25m in dead money...they are playing their top 6 salaries 180m... what kind of talent are they going to be able to sign... they have a QB and a high first round pick....only plus they have but a lot more than we have.

I don't know what goes on behind the scenes and how the blame should be distributed but we are clearly the worst opening available.

  • Worst record in the league last year
  • No first round pick
  • Heavy investment into a QB you or the incoming coach didn't choose.
  • Tied with Jets for worst record since Tepper took over in 2018.
  • Have regressed in terms of talent and assets each year.

There is no real silver lining to taking a job here if you are an up and comer. Ā Maybe if you are someone who's been around a long time and just wanting to capitalize on one final contract this might be ideal, otherwise not a whole lot to like about working here right now.

    • Honestly for over month. I was meaning to do a troll "Super sleeper WR had a off year on a bad team...." thread that featuredĀ DionteĀ Johnson...... let the poop fly. I didn't mind it either, Ive been looking to use that gif for months. Juan cannot take all of them..
    • Steal of the century with Nolen at 57. It didn't stop there either. I know you cannot fill all the needs/wants, WR was just never in the cards. Since it felt fantasy I drafted a Clemson player.... I feel less than 2% chance walker makes it to 8th, he along with jenty are the start of tier 2.Ā  I'd trade yosh for future late rounder since Emery Jones is the RT of the future. Or wait until TC injuries hit OT, yosh should have a little trade value.Ā  2026 this draft could yield 5-7 starters if the lotto is real..... Ā  Ā
    • Ny Times Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Jaylin Walker to RaidersĀ Ā  8. Carolina Panthers: Mykel Williams, edge, Georgia The second Georgia player to go in the top 10, Williams was injured in the 2024 opener against Clemson and didnā€™t get to play much in the first half of last season. But he was back for a big game at Texas in October and gave UT fits, notching two sacks. He had two more sacks against the Longhorns in the SEC title game. The 6-5, 260-pounder has 34 1/2-inch arms with potential that makes D-line coaches giddy. ā€œHe was banged up a lot this year, but when he was close to 100 percent, heā€™s super twitchy,ā€ an SEC tight ends coach said. ā€œHeā€™s a freak.ā€ Heā€™ll boost a Carolina team that had the worst pass rush in the league. ā€œHeā€™s more of the traditional defensive end guy than Walker,ā€ said an SEC O-line coach who was really impressed by both Georgia players. ā€œHe can either be that 3-4 outside linebacker or 4-3 end. He has real pass rush ability. I think heā€™s an elite edge rusher. Heā€™s great chasing from behind, and he can play the run well enough.ā€ Ā  ESPN Rd 1 8.Ā Carolina Panthers Jalon Walker, Edge/LB, Georgia The Panthers have made a series of edge rusher investments over the past two years, but none has massively moved the needle. The Panthers -- who allowed the most yards per play (6.0) and tied for the third-fewest sacks (32) last season -- could truly address their need in the top 10, though. Walker had 6.5 sacks in 2024 even though he spent a lot of his time patrolling the middle of the field at off-ball linebacker. Carolina could deploy Walker in a hybrid role since it needs a boost at both linebacker and edge rusher. Ā  rd 2Ā  57.Ā Carolina PanthersĀ (viaĀ LAR) Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa State At 5-foot-10 and 194 pounds, Noel might be a better fit in the slot than outside. But he has serious explosion, averaging 14.9 yards per catch last season en route to 1,194 yards and eight scores. Noel could joinĀ Xavier LegetteĀ andĀ Jalen CokerĀ to form an intriguing young WR corps. Ā  NFL.COM. IDEAL FIRST 2 picks Round 1:Ā No. 8 overall:Ā Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State Round 2:Ā No. 57 overall:Ā Kevin Winston Jr.Ā S, Penn State The Panthers might have bigger needs on their roster than at tight end, but they are unlikely to find a more impactful player on offense than Warren. His presence as a safety valve and red-zone threat would aidĀ ļ»æBryce Youngļ»æ's progression as a third-year starter. In this scenario, they take Winston -- a rangy, secure tackler -- to play beside free-agent pick-upĀ ļ»æTre'von Moehrigļ»æ. By taking two prospects from the same school with their first two picks, they follow the lead of the Rams (who actually traded Carolina this year's 57th overall pick as part of the process of pairingĀ ļ»æJared Verseļ»æĀ andĀ ļ»æBraden Fiskeļ»æĀ of Florida State) and Jaguars (who tookĀ ļ»æBrian Thomas Jr.ļ»æĀ andĀ ļ»æMaason Smithļ»æĀ out of LSU) last year.Ā
