Selling the job

Tepper himself is the biggest negative about the job and only Tepper can address that. 

Past that, the biggest thing is to assure the coach that their record next year will not affect their job security. Acknowledge that Young is part of the equation for next year but another QB can be brought in for 25, whether by FA or draft. Otherwise, the priority for next year is not playoffs but simply move the team in the right direction. Patience, that's what it comes to, a commitment that this new coach will be given enough time to address the myriad of issues we have. No more of all these mid-season firings.

You gotta sell Bryce Young as a current positive.

It's likely impossible to pretend Young isn't the team's commitment right now, so don't try.

Let the candidates talk to Young and see whether they click with him.

If they don't, then c'est la vie, but the reality is you can't trick somebody into taking a job and then expect them to be passionate about doing it.

What does letting HC candidates talk to Bryce accomplish exactly? To show them that he interviews well and has great table manners? The NFL ain't a dinner party.

The fair thing to do would be to give prospective coaches an opportunity to evaluate Bryce's football skills. Get Bryce on the field and ask him to throw as if he's at the combine. Let the candidates watch and evaluate whether Bryce is workable. 

If Tepper insists on having Bryce as the franchise qb come hell or high water, then that's his right to do so as an owner, but do expect plenty of candidates to say no thank you.

The incoming staff is absolutely going to give Young their vote of confidence in the introductory presser and it’s going to make the usual suspects squeal like hogs as they instantly start the early and predictable whining about them regardless of the credentials they were hired on

I think anyone watching this season can see that Young is a bust. Could we build a super team around him and drag him to a wildcard loss? Yes of course. You can do that with a variety of backup QBs as well. But why? You can't have a great roster year in and year out due to free agency. Yes superior coaches can have your team overachieving, but look what just happened to the Dolphins.

Imo you go into an immediate QB search and don't stop until we clearly have "the guy". A QB who elevates the team around him, and has the ability to go toe to toe with guys like Mahomes. Otherwise, why would you expect to ever win the SB? You shouldn't expect a SB win with Young. You'd have to be crazy.

Nope, at the combine QBs are asked to make specific throws not to generate buzz or to make them look cool. They are asked to make them to see if they can make them and how well they can make them. I think you're confusing the NFL combine with pro days.
