Y'all falling for fancy OC's again. We need a culture changer at HC not some fancy playcaller who doesn't have a QB to make those plays work.

Stick to the plan Harbaugh or bust!

Harbaugh is not coming here. Does not want to come here. Will never come here ... unless it's to play against the Panthers.

What is sad is this homeristic board refuses to say Bryce is bad. It’s like they all have something to prove.

Personally, I'm quick to say Bryce is bad. I'm not quick to say he's a Bust. There's a difference.

One says, even with a better support, he'll still be trash - aka - a bust.

The other says, with a better support, he can be average - game manager type. Not worth the #1 and move up, but not a bust.

We'll see what he ends up being.

We don't want to admit we made one of the worst trades in NFL history for a sub-Kyle Allen prospect

I'd love to have him here. But he has too many other better options and that's not even accounting for Tepper being a meddling egomaniac.

Only other option then is someone like Vrabel whom some fans here think is Ron Rivera 2.0 which is false. Beggars can't be choosers.

How about just "a disappointment".....does that work?

This is where I was the first half of the year, when he had nothing to work with at all and wasn't performing.

Toward the later half of the year when the run game picked up, Bryce was still bad. At that point "disappointing" was understating it for me.

That said, with league average help I think he can still be a league average QB. Not that that gets anyone excited.

Oh god, Bryce really is a poor man's version of Allen.

Allen at least was able to string together a few good games in a row and never looked totally incompetent. Bryce... he has one good game. A great one, in fact. Best I've seen in years. But he also has 15 other ones that were bad to awful.

    • Completely disagree on your Mike Jackson assessment.  There are a ton of guys that play in the slot that are great matchups for him... especially now that the tight end is essentially a third receiver.  He also is solid in run support and would hugely improve our run defense playing in the nickel.
    • Where this conversation goes south continuously and becomes bitter and contentious is when the discussion involves his "improvement". It is not hyperbole to say we started out the first two games of the season with some of the worst QB play in franchise history. We're talking amongst Jimmy Clausen. So when someone comes in and says Bryce played at such a high level in the last stretch of games he even surpassed Cam Newton as a sophomore there's not going to be any logical conversation to be had at that juncture. We can talk in a reality based context or we can talk in an echo chamber context. Only one is going to foster productive dialogue. Anyways what's done is done. We need to focus on the now. Now Bryce has an offensive line we've invested a ton of salary cap space in. He has a formidable backfield. He has a significantly improved WR room including 2 first round picks the last 2 years one being an 8th overall pick. He has one of the better TE rooms we've had in years with actual young promising talent instead of jags like Ian Thomas taking up salary cap space. He has a young up and coming offensive head coach. Honestly this is probably the best situation any QB has had entering the season since Delhomme in 2003. The foundation is there for any QB worth his salt to showcase high end franchise QB ability going forward.
