Commanders want Ben Johnson

It seems like a reasonable bet to assume we’re landing Macdonald, Frank Smith, Callahan, or Canales. Just feels like that’s the realistic pool.

I just don’t see Quinn or Monken happening.

Johnson is a long shot.

Harbaugh and BB aren’t coming here.

Don’t think Vrabel will happen.

He got to see Bryce in live action week 5, so if he chooses Washington and on of this years top QB’s it will be an indictment on Bryce

Anyone would choose one of this year's top QBs over Bryce. They have the intrigue of having not just spent an entire season on an NFL field not looking NFL caliber. Of course you'd choose door #2 over that.

We are the polar opposite of that

Obviously. I feel like I recall Peters being discussed when we were replacing Marty and he wanted to stay at SF. It kind of hurt hearing he went to Washington.

I’m not really optimistic on what we’ll do.

Would it shock anyone if we hired Belichick and he just up and quit before the season? I could see him taking the podium and saying something to the effect of...

"Look, I wanted another project before I called it quits. I wanted to help one of the worst franchises in the league right themselves. I always respected the Panthers. I won my first Super Bowl against them. When Ron Rivera was here with Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly they competed against us as well as any team in the league. But David Tepper is a fuging moron who refuses to be helped. I have six rings already. I don't need this. I apologize to Panthers fans but this isn't what I signed up for. This was not our agreement, so I'm resigning effective immediately."

He already quit the Jets during his introductory press conference because he thought the team had pulled the rug out from under him in 2000. The difference is here he could easily just tell Tepper he is an idiot, that he is going to do what ever he wants to do and just get fired for it while taking the cash. He is absolutely better at that game than Tepper too. BB would throw him out of the room and Tepper would throw his proverbial drink while BB walks with a 7 year contract and a fat retirement package.

Bill is actually interested in Panthers job.  He inquired about the Panthers in late December.  About a week ago there was an interview with Bill and he said he’s not ready to retire just yet.  He said he still wants to take on project and make it successful.

yeah it sure makes perfect sense if you also take into consideration the fact that we are going to hire the HC prior to making a decision on the next GM  & moreover we are interested in a cap manager / analytic type of GM to pair with someone like for example Belichick

It's incredible to watch them go do what is impossible for Tepper. Lucky fans to get ownership that does that well that quick but they did have a long time under Snyder. They are building their house the right way and it still looks like Tepper is about to do his thing again with the same crappy outcome.

What do you want Tepper to do? They invited him to interview and Tepper has already shown (Matt Rhule) he is not afraid to open the checkbook to get the candidate he wants.

Unless were competing with the Broncos, a HC would have to walk away from the highest big for us to not get a HC...

They put the GM on the backburner and Petters would in fact leave SF. Tepper kept Fritters too long and could have hired a good GM to lure a good HC. He is trying to keep the peices he thinks is good and it should all have been wiped the day after.

His only positive is his open checkbook and the rest are negatives. He is making a mess again while the first time guys in DC are killing it. This is his third attempt and it's already questionable.

Tepper will hire Belichick  because he's the shiniest object in his eyes and give him full power. And when the team sucks in two years, tepper will say he never should have given anyone but himself full power and take it back. We are in a vicious cycle

    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
    • The bottom lines to me are that a) we played well enough to beat the best team in the league and b) Bryce Young is growing into a bridge QB role (his ceiling) for us. As much as I don't want BY around after the season, it seems DC can still build the O with a game manager at QB for now. Best case scanario, we can build the D through the draft this year and take a QB we have conviction outside the 1st this or next draft. If BY keeps improving, we are going to win a couple more games this year.
    • Bryce has been a completely different QB since coming back. That started in Denver where it was obviously he was playing a lot more loose and willing to push the ball downfield  Bryce continues to build off of the previous weeks performance and that’s what you want to see Bryce has been making some real good anticipation throws. Reading defenses well. Pushing the ball downfield (7 throws of 20+ air yards yesterday. 8 if you want to include PI to Thielen). The deep ball accuracy has been there. Some of Young’s best throws yesterday were incompletions. Sideline balls to XL and Moore both should’ve been caught. RZ dot to Tremble should’ve been caught. And another RZ ball to Moore that Young gave him a chance at. Bryce is starting to execute Canales offense and yesterday Canales finally opened it up a bit. Canales was to blame for the 126 passing yards in Germany as he played a more conservative game.  The next bit I’m looking for his for Young to be a bit more decisive with running the ball. Start putting that on film and it’ll help open things up a tad
