2010 Franchised Players--Add Ryan Pickett

Green Bay Packers placed their franchise tag on DT Ryan Pickett. The DT franchise tag is $7 million. Pickett not going anywhere.

this free agent class is getting smaller by the day.

heres an updated list from profootballtalk.com:

Patriots: NT Vince Wilfork (franchise).

Steelers: NT Casey Hampton (franchise), K Jeff Reed (transition).

Raiders: DE Richard Seymour (francise).

Packers: NT Ryan Pickett (franchise).

Seahawks: K Olindo Mare (franchise).

49ers: NT Aubrayo Franklin (franchise).

Because we need big money free agents, and Hurney is so terrible at finding bang for your buck talent in free agency.

Oh wait.

The LAST thing we need is big money free agents. They seldom have the impact on the field that fans expect....just look at Dallas, Washington, and Oakland as prime examples.

You lock up you young players and find complimentary pieces to your team.

Fans want to see the flashy signings, but they are not the way to go....especially in this WEAK free agent class.

just looking in our own division......the Saints adding Sharper last season and the Falcons the year before with Turner were probably both the moves that put them in the playoffs the year after they signed them.

Losing top tier talent over several years and hoping to replace it through the draft isn't a solution imo, we need a healthy mix.

We dont need to break the bank but a competent WR would do wonders for our Offense. Its clear that Drafting one is not gonna happen for this team
