Quick question

del rio....an i would LOVE to have him back....our D has lost its excitement

Who do you think coached Del Rio's defense when they didn't suck? Del Rio or Mike Smith? The Jags lost more this year than we did when Del Rio left. I always thought he was overrated and got too much credit for 2003.

Defense is largely about "ATTITUDE."

These guys have been playing way too CASUAL AND COMPLACENT.

Even when they do try to apply pressure, they are dancers instead of dominators.

In order to be "INTENSE", they need to play with "INTENT." Those times when Pep gets to the QB, you can see on the replay that he is determined to get there, no matter what. Those times when he doesn't, he looks like he's fine with not getting there.

I'm not questioning talent on Defense. They don't play with enough tenacity, though.

They need to get back that attitude that they had.

Del Rio.

but Trgo bennefitted from having outstanding players who got pressure at will.

Excellent answer :-)

Trgo has had better talent since 03, but he's horrendous on play calls...I call better plays on madden...may be not...but I can't think of a time where he called a great game from start to finish(may be a couple of games early this year)...

Del Rio's D in '02 was didn't give up an inch without a fight...anot not as talented as the Ds we had since

Another word for this may be Heart. I made a post about this and it was blasted and then disappeared from lack of discussion.

Trgo's best job by far wasn't 2003 but 2005.'

2003- Yards 8th -295.3 per game, Pts allowed 10th-19, sacks 7th- 40, Int 12th-16

2005 Yards 3rd- 282.6 per game, Pt allowed- 3rd 16.2, sacks 7th- 45,

Int 4th- 23

And 2005 was Trgo not Del Rio.

See what you did! Made me look it up and now I'm defending him. I hate when that happens.
