Build around Bryce. 1st, an offense game plan that he can thrive in and build the offense around him (maybe similar to Miami) with some speed receivers (and TE) and quick backs. Quick receivers will help Bryce get the ball out quicker and stretch the field and open up the middle of the field. O-line just needs to stay healthy (and a blocking scheme that fits their strengths) but better depth is needed. The guards are the most important because of Bryce's size and we had 3rd stringers in there most of the season. Does anybody realize that played a major part in the decline of the O-line.

Defense; build around Brown and Luvu. If Horn can stay healthy he's a star. Evero is the key for 2024. A good defense with a decent offense has no place but to get up will make us more competitive in games. We hung in a few these year, just the offense had no horsepower to close it.

Health is the key which means depth is more important. 1 or 2 stars get hurt, it's a huge swing. Think of how bad our defense would have been if Brown went down? They say don't use that as an excuse but when you don't have depth, that's the reality of it. Drafting and signing a lot of B+ level guys who are smart, grinders and love the game can and will create chemistry with the right coaching staff. Have a few A level guys with C and D level back ups doesn't work all the time. Look at KC when they lost to TB in the SB. They had 2 back up tackles and Mahomes couldn't be magical enough on his own.

Side note: Having back ups who fit the same type of play and build of the starter is better than having more specialists. Thats when injuries play a larger factor when players are playing in a fill in role not exactly up their standard level of play and it shrinks the playbook as well. Have 3 types of WRs and 2 of each. Have a back up guard who plays just like the starter. Have LBs that are interchangeable. Just like teams rotating the D-line (Eagles were great at this last year, they were all similar).

Mimicking Miami has some appeal. There are several similarities between Bryce and Tua. It would be a multi-season build though. There aren't a lot of guys that can run like Tyreek or Waddle and consistently catch the ball (see Chiefs).

If Evero stays for year 2 I think the defense will be even better. I was happy to see Horn finish out the year. He probably earned himself a 5th year option.

I think they better figure out if Bryce is worth building around first

I’m not sure they know the answer …he needs to start seeing the field…particularly the middle.

…regardless of the QB, build and backfill that line and have high quality depth and get decent wide receivers

honest to god, the panthers are terrible at drafting WRs…get one in free agency

Reich called an offense built around Bryce, and then Bryce ended up having his best games when that was abandoned and they put him under center.

Doing weird poo because they think it's what Bryce needs is a big reason the offense sucked as much as it did.

If you're saying the only way for Bryce to be a success is to have every single piece built perfectly for him ... you're actually saying he's not an NFL QB. QBs face diversity. They need to be able to handle multiple situations. You can play to their strengths, but this is football, not bryceball.

They tried developing/building and running an offense that was in no one's wheelhouse around a speculative commodity with only a vague idea how it would look left for a lot of individual interpretation from very distinct mindsets with a head coach who was a nice guy, but also fearful of not having control and no clear understanding on how to or ability to run a club where so many strong personalities and presences from diverse backgrounds are present and all of that with a narcissistic owner who wants his two cents put into every discussion and decision while also breathing down the head coach's neck at all times.

Now try reading that massive run on sentence out loud without taking a breath and you have the compexity and chaos of this team in a nutshell.

And that was just the offense.

A couple problems. Bryce can’t throw the ball deep. If we had these hypothetical fast receivers they would be running bubble screens because Bryce doesn’t have the arm strength to ‘stretch the field.’ Reichs offense sucked because it placated to Busts skill set, especially turning the entire offense into a red zone offense. The Panthers could sign prime Randy Moss he would average 6 catches and 65 yards a game. It is so sad that we will have to endure another year (or 6-7 games) of this instead of moving on when the writing is on the wall.

Nonsense! We're going to draft/sign/trade for a stellar Oline, draft/sign/trade for some elite WRs and TEs, draft/sign/trade for some amazing RBs and FB, hire the best damn HC ever, hire the best damn GM ever, and hire the best damn OC ever in prep for Bryce's wonderful 2024!

IDK, I think it's very debatable if Horn deserves a 5th year option. He is a top 10 pick and the option would be expensive, he has never played a full season as well. I would understand if the FO declines it and just see if he can stay healthy his 4th year. That's a lot of money sitting on IR for the year!

....if ur all in on Bryce (and I'm not) you at least need to give him an NFL caliber WR with more protection on the Oline... think thats prolly the goal next season.

You’ve made up your mind cool..

But it’s a difference in needing everything to be perfect around BY..  Or just having 1 thing working that he can depend on..

I think the offense was built for stroud hence the square peg round hole philosophy.  No way what we saw earlier in the season was designed for young.  I think reich and brown were working under the assumption of cj being pick.
