The main reason that I am glad Pep is gone.

The main reason that Pep needed to go is because he didn't want to be here. Though I loved Pep for what he brought to the team, I think that he lost appreciation for the Panthers over time. Instead of being allowed to play football, he had to take on the burden of being the leader of the defense---if not the team---though he never really was leadership material, because he is basically a loner who spurns being in the spotlight. He knows that he is good, and can be awesome, and probably resents coaches who he feels should just let him do the things that he believes will allow him to not only do his job to the best of his ability, but achieve greatness. He probably resents the segment of the Panthers fan base that has spoken so negatively of him over the years, notwithstanding multiple Po-Bowl appearances. At least, now, many of us in the Huddle who truly appreciated Pep for the player that he was for the Panthers organization, as well as the stand-up guy off the field, will not have to listen to the incessant whining and complaining about Pep's lack of worth and value to the team (which will probably be a great benefit to the Huddle experience...).

Parting is such sweet sorrow, especially when Peppers puts Delhomme on his ass tomorrow.
