Just told my cousin that this could be a way for owners to force the players to agree to terms....i expect a lot more high profile releases to dump salaries.

Me too.

Some team is bound to not give a fug and spend anyways.

But to me signs are pointing to the Owners basically strongarming the players into a new CBA this season.

whenever someone posts MLB salaries the implication is that you can buy a team, when the MLB has made it pretty clear that you cannot, in fact, buy a team.

Just like in any sport, savvy trades and good farm/scouting/drafting beats big spending every single day of the week.

I would love for Dan Snyder to go insane this offseason on the absolutely miserable crop of free agents, especially with a probable salary cap on the horizon.
