Got some songs on the laptop. They show up in the iTunes library. They show up in the songs list on both the laptop library and the iPod itself. But when I go into the Artist list on the iPod, they don't show up under the artist. WTF.

I cleaned the iPod out, reloaded all the songs. Same issue. WTF^2.

Also, a pre-emptive for you all to suck on.

Yeah, my wife has this crap on her laptop and every so often has me load stuff on her Ipod Touch and Nano... crappy software IMO. That's not much help to you, but it is what it is.

Ipods fuging suck. If I didn't have an Ipod connector in my car, I'd have junked that POS years ago.

It's been fine until now. Came with the computer. I think I'm gonna get an iPod here soon, so hopefully this issue doesn't persist on that as well.

I read about that on another forum, but I don't think that's the issue here because the songs are already on the iPod, they're just not under the appropriate artist sometimes.

Let me guess, the artists in question are usually from compilations? You can change it, but each track of a compilation album will show up in iTunes as its own album.

Just uncheck compilations on each track's information panel, then on each track, set the album artist to the song artist.
