Now will we be a player In FA.

And what I am saying is that you have to understand the mindset of our FO.

For the most part they are conservative when it comes to the FA market... they sign more middle tier players, or vets who can come in and be serviceable...

Also with no salary cap and LESS UFA's because of the uncapped season supply for higher tier FA will be lower while demand is still high.... What this means is that the cost for these players will be greatly inflated!!

The Big cat is all ready preaching fiscal responsibility to other owners. So don't expect them to get in these bidding wars an over pay for a top FA on the market.

We don't just have 21 mil to play with in the market.... I don't know where you get that from. I believe Hurney reaffirmed yesterday that they want to resign and pay the young studs on our team who will need a new contract.

If we spend that money on FA now's it will also take up significant cap space in future years... So next year when it's time to resign some of our core players we can't because we all ready splashed in the market this year and overpaid for players... Our FO is smarter than that.

The Mindset of the FO is we have too win or we won't get a contract next year. If this isn't their mindset then they won't be around next year.

We could have paid Pep 21 million so we do have that money. Landon Johnson might not be back. Kemo might not be back. Jake might be force too resturcture all this could mean more then the 21 we had too pay Pep and still be under the salary cap.

Again I didn't say spend all the money on FA but you are crazy if you don't think they need too make moves at Dline and WR in Free Agency.

I don't see why it is so hard to believe that the team would go out and get one or two top-tier players--not necessarily elite, to fill one or two need holes on the roster. I agree that the team won't go on some large shopping spree, however, just standing on the sidelines during this FA period shouldn't be an option either.

I believe we will be active in FA.

1st reason - with Meeks attempting to turn our defense into his, he will continue to pull players onto the roster who fit his mold.

2nd reason - Last year of the contract for Fox. He will need to make some popular moves to gain so much lost fan love

3rd reason - With 2 amazing rushing performers last season, it was finally proved that even the most amazing rushing team can't win with the run alone.

4th reason - The worst special teams in the NFL!

5th reason - Cap space. Even with no cap, we still have lots of room to buy and remain fiscally stable

Why would we be players in the WEAKEST FA market in the past several years? also how many picks do we have this year? 4-5. how are we going to build with that? trade more 1st round picks from next year?

we really dont know if any of our guys can replace peps production. quick! who requires a double team on our line???? what!!??? you cant think of one?

Did you watch many Panther games the past two seasons? Pep was NOT double teamed that often.

I watched several games where he got pushed around by the TE.

We have to make a move at WR. What we have outside of Smitty are servicable parts at best and we know how rookie WRs turn out, ESPECIALLY here.

I also agree we will make a move in FA for a WR. I doubt it will be a splash for a RFA, or someone like Boldin. However, it will be an upgrade.

With Brayton, Johnson, and Brown at DE....I am not sure we make a big move for a top FA here. Kampman is a possibility, but he is coming off a knee injury.

I could see a WR and then some mid tier guys to fight it out in camp.
