A bust as an outside linebacker. Some guys just can't adapt mentally to that switch. It's quite possible if he reverts back to a 4/3 he could play more naturally or at least be a threat as a pass rusher. Could offer him a one-year deal to see if he picks up his game. It's not like we have a high draft pick to spend on a defensive end that might be a good fit in a meeks defense

If Matt Moore starts from Week 1 last season, we probably go 11-5. The pieces are here. The defense will be better despite Peppers absence because all the young players on our defense will be a year older and more mature. The running game will still make work, our schedule will be easier, our offensive line is still elite, and hopefully with Moore our passing game will be able to produce enough to keep us in ballgames that Jake threw us out of last year.

Relax "hate me 45". I wasn't questioning our last three first-round picks or the ones we traded for. I was simply stating our need for a speed rusher with some upside potential which we won't have until at least the third round of the draft since a wide receiver is the glaring need in the second. After all aoron kampman didn't exactly transition well to a 43 linebacker yet no one will say he didn't excel as a pass rushing 34 end. The reverse could be true for Vernon gholston

Why would we be players in the WEAKEST FA market in the past several years? also how many picks do we have this year? 4-5. how are we going to build with that? trade more 1st round picks from next year?

we really dont know if any of our guys can replace peps production. quick! who requires a double team on our line???? what!!??? you cant think of one?

While I agree about Moore, you don't loose a pro-bowl DE and get better. Johnson and Brown might prove to be good players, but neither have Peppers ability to change a game. As of today the Panthers are a weaker team than yesterday.

Get mad all you want, but I'm just going on the trend they have of being conservative when it comes to signing quality FA's.
